Training restrictions

WA clubs through no fault of there own have been forced into training restrictions just like the Vic clubs were. Regardless of covid numbers. Not our clubs decision.

The AFL figured it out and set a precedent.
But only if it suits.

Hawks had 1 home game at the MCG through no fault of their own. And spent over 100 days living 1 hour outside of Adelaide.

Im happy for Hawthorn to lose 5 days of training if every SA, WA and QLD club does that this year.

I mean its only fair, right ?

But maybe the SA teams spend 1 hour outside of Perth. That should be outside the lockdown zone, yeah ?

Hawthorn started the season with MCG, Kardinia Park, MCG, Docklands before everyone was airlifted out of Victoria. Melbourne started Perth, Docklands, MCG, MCG and you don't hear their fans squealing like stuck pigs about it. The only reason WC and Freo had a block of home games in the middle of the season is WA was relatively COVID free and Victorian teams had to play each other somewhere. If there were no 'home' games in WA by teams other than WC and Freo to make the so worthwhile there would've been no games in WA after Rd 1.

I think AFL training restrictions are petty but I look forward to 'integrity of the game' being trotted out.

Everythings the same but worse when you live in WA. And its up to everyone else to take responsibility to solve their sporting problems.

A state footballing culture defined by the naive and lazy projection of its own percieved victimhood.

We could hardly care.
Lame logic. Same training rules should apply to the league as when Melbourne was locked down. Simple. Double standard, biased crap from the AFL.

I was for WA teams training normally last year because their state allows it. Therefore, I’m for the other teams training in normal conditions this year as well if their state allows it.

However, I agree that consistency would mean to restrict all teams from training normally because they set a precedent last year.

Mate, We in WA have been back to normal for 10 months. I know which state has run the Covid 19 response right, hint... it's not Vic.

Easy to do when your the most isolated city on an island.
I’d say given the amount of numbers they took in the fact they kept moving best they could. They backed their resources and tracing you’d have to say NSW and quite easily.

One Rule For All Clubs.

Is that too much to ask for?

Well knock me down with a feather another whinge from the West.

The amusing thing is that despite the AFL having already said they’ll introduce restrictions on all teams if the WA restrictions continue, the usual West Coast supporters will whinge it was only because Victoria now has restrictions (that don’t actually affect AFL players I don’t believe) that they’ve done anything.

ViccoBias does it again

Cry me a river, we have a legit reason to be jacked off about this. It's not some arbitrary whinge about something intangible, its about in your face bias towards 10 Victorian Clubs that you can't makeup.

Hawks lose 5 days training and WCE spend 100 days continuous in a hub in the Flinders Ranges (hint its in SA).

And only get 1 home game at your home ground.

Deal?

Otherwise what the **** are you bitching about when you want fair ?

I'm very proud of how NSW have handled everything. Premier has been outstanding. There have been glitches but in general she has wanted to keep NSW running as "normal" as possible whilst containing the virus which she has been able to. This is despite us taking the bulk of International arrivals especially early on, other states especially Victoria have been doing their part there too.

Hairy, don't push too hard, they will start whinging about something else otherwise.

But I just want it to be fair for them.

5 days of no training is clearly the same as 100+ days in the middle of nowhere in South Australia, and being the only team not to spend any time at a resort in QLD.

And even with the pretend home games the AFL had to give teams in hubs Hawthorn only had 7 home games and 10 away games.

But yes I agree we should be sensitive. 5 days is literally the worst.

NSW also wanted to keep teams and have games here like the NRL did but were blocked by WA and a bit by QLD. Though it was mostly WA being difficult and making unreasonable demands.

Im sensing a theme here.
