Toast Travis Boak top 10

If we can win lots of games in the coming seasons then Boak is a nice chance for a Brownlow someday. But I think everyone just wants to see Boak play his role in the team and do it well throughout the year.

Yep well done to Travis - not sure how Selwood managed 21 votes but then again going by the winner the umpires have some interesting opinions about player performances.

Here's to a huge 2011 with your buddies Robbie and Hamish pitching in.

Well done Boak, knew he'd be a shoe in for our most votes.

Shame about Judd taking another medal away from the deserving winner again though.
First Tredders in 04 now Swan in 10.

I don't think its a joke. I think its biased towards midfielders, and players who are particularly flashy, but its a very hard medal to win, and thats what gives it its prestige.

wouldn't be very interesting if the favorite always won either.

But, but, but... Ricciutto said he isn't in the top 50 players in yesterdays Advertiser?

Prosciutto is just another example of idiot media cow fanatics.
Clueless overpaid middle tier player that only won his medal coz the rest of the corporation at the time were so awful he was the only one that could get votes...

Some players just poll well for whatever reason. Boaky seems to be one of them.

Get some cash down at the start of every season for him to finish top 5... it'll eventually pay off :D

The real positive for Boak is that he now knows he can attract votes. At his age, he has every chance of winning Charlie. Not a bad effort considering Port had a 9 game losing streak.

If Pendlebury played for Carlton, Swan would've won it. It's a shit voting system, voted for by idiots who play favourites.

Nah. Don't buy it. Plenty of midfielders have won in good teams. See akermanis and black.

Ablett won by like a gagillion votes last year, and he had chapman and bartel (and if you like, selwood) in the same team as him. Not to mention that he beat swan this year.

Winning so many games made it way easier for Swan to win it than Judd.

The umpires have a different opinion to the stats, and thats how it is.

29 votes is HEAPS by the way.

Good effort from Boaky, but what I hope for in future seasons, is not so much for him to win it, but for us to have 3-4 players who each have >12 votes. Our depth of real quality player has been poor for too long now.

Josh Francou 19 (2001, 3rd place)
Josh Francou 21 (2002, 2nd place)
Warren Tredrea 16 (2003, 13th place)
Shaun Burgoyne 16 (2007, 11th place)

Burgoyne and Lade also got =6th in 2006 on 15 votes!

For some reason you've forgotten 2006

Shaun Burgoyne & B Lade equal 6th
D Pearce equal 10th.

Didn't forget them, just figured 15 (and 13) < 16 so those results weren't relevant to Bernie's question.

Anyway, that was a really good result for Travis. Missed a couple of games with injury, and played through injury as well, and still polled well. I think he'll enjoy playing under a game plan more suited to grass than pixels too. ;)

Surprised Chad got 6 votes - not a bad effort for someone who could barely compete for most of the season.

I think that was Kane. ;)

Port's Brownlow votes

Travis Boak 16
David Rodan 8
*Kane Cornes 6
Domenic Cassisi, *Jay Schulz 5
*Jason Davenport, Robbie Gray, Danyle Pearce, Justin Westhoff 3
Dean Brogan, Matt Thomas 2
Troy Chaplin 1
