Im a big follower of the major american sports mainly NHL+MLB and to a lesser degree NBA + NFL . People in America are seriously spoilt to have so much professional sport to follow . Also im a keen punter on the first 2 mentioned . Hence maybe my extra interest in NHL +MLB stems from my punting funny that . Was interested to know the betting principles people use or if there are any trends people follow in the pursuit of making a quid . For mine ive always followed winning form with moderate success but find after good winning streaks losing streaks would follow . Recently ive changed my angle and followed teams after a loss 2 losses or several losses and finding im much more consistent . Have also been using the chasing system after 2 ,3 or even 4+ losses . Will go into it more if anybody has any interest or indeed wants to share their betting principles ??

sdql.com -learn how to use it and you will be able to find trends for just about anything you can think of when it comes to American sports. Unfortunately it doesn't give you past odds as it's too variable, you have to go elsewhere for that.

Thanks had a quick look and seems like it will be useful . Have actually unsuccessfully searched for a site like that in the past and had to be content with a number of sites to gain trend info that arent as in depth . :thumbsu:

It's a pretty impressive data base and has a great support network of users that will help you out with the correct data queries. As far as your chase system, please tell me it isn't the one involving MLB teams that are .500 after the all star break.

Yes MLB and have seen the forum regarding after the all star break on Covers.com but not using that system in its form . Have made up my own perameters eg. top 5 sides after a loss at home then chase for 3 not 4 . Top 15 to 20 sides 2 losses at home then chase with atleast 3 games left in a homestand etc . Definately have to be careful with this system as the wager can get out of hand . Have been using it for the past couple of months and going quite well unfortunately the regular season is about to come to an end .

Have you got a spread sheet you can share with us that lists your plays, stakes and at what odds? I've yet to see a martingale/chase system work but never say never.

No im not that tech savvy mate yes i was sceptical to start with and takes some getting use to especially the doubling and more each loss . 3rd game can get a little hairy and have had a couple of losses . Its only early doors yet is completely different to the way ive gone about my betting and it hasnt stood the test of time yet so we'll see .

If you cant use excel, you wont have much hope with SDQL. How do you track your chase's? How do you know you are winning overall? I'm going to assume you aim to win 1 unit from each chase. There was a recent Dodgers home series where they were beaten all 7 games in a row, if you had cut your losses after the third game you would have wiped around 18 units, that's how small the odds were for each game! For those that don't follow baseball, the Dodgers up until that series were absolutely flying so I don't know how anyone playing this kind of system would not have backed them in.
Baseball is a game of streaks, losing streaks happen to the best teams too and the best teams usually come with the smallest odds. If you are in front with this method at the moment, please stop now while you are ahead mate.

Totally understand what your saying re the losses banking up . Wish i had of faded the Dodgers through that loss streak it was clear they were trying new players and resting players . I try and stay away from games with very low odds as the stakes can pile up yes so havent actually had the dodgers involved much at all . And hence why ive tweaked the criteria limiting myself to a 3 game chase and most of them i start after 1 or 2 losses for the team im backing . I dont do a lot of plays so tracking them is fine i use sportsbet and bet365 and they track every play you make . And also post most of my plays on Covers.com . Ive done a lot of homework studying game logs of previous years and am finding if your selective enough definately think it can be profitable over the longterm but as i said i understand your thoughts on it . Im also planning on using it for the NHL . After 10 years of limited success and slowly lining my bookies bank its worth a go imo . Just not for everyone i agree .

best advice one can give you is to stop this method immediately

The NHL is fast approaching , NBA soon after has anyone got any trends or angles theyve noticed in these sports theyd like to share ? . Myself i followed 3+ 4 game losing streaks last year in the NHL with good success .
The win % for the 1st game after a 4 game losing streak for the next tier down of the better sides was extremely good . And 3 game loss streak for the top ranked sides good also . Taking out the obvious Coyotes , Devils of last year Colorado and a couple other teams who clearly can and did go on long losing streaks . Also another good trend was what i call the roadtrip scenario . Criteria is must be a 4 game or more roadtrip then returning home lose their 1st game back home and the second game at home or away win % again was very good . Be good to hear if any others think along these lines regarding their betting ?
