thanksKen just rang Bass on his thoughts re: letting Austin go.
Nothing major but clearly wanted the opinion of his line coach before giving our blessing.
Full name Trent McKenzie
Nickname(s) The Cannon
Date of birth 3 April 1992 (age 25)
Original team(s) Western Jets (TAC Cup)
Draft Underage recruit, Gold Coast
Height 190 cm (6 ft 3 in)
Weight 86 kg (190 lb)
So he is going to replace one of Byrne- Jones, Pittard, Hartlett, Bonner or Houston?
McKenzie has been recruited as a backup to our first choice line up.
I hope we get his fitness up and that he plays on the opposite wing to Polec ...
I am still expecting Trengove and McKenzie (and Thomas) to play mostly for the Magpies. If any earns a spot in the Power, great!
If two or all three do that, then, watch out...
McKenzie is our biggest bet, though. His upside is unknown.
How fast is Trent? As an opponent I paid little attention to, I had the impression he was too slow to play wing.
He played against Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval round 23 if you can watch the replay. How fast is Trent? As an opponent I paid little attention to, I had the impression he was too slow to play wing.

Until he was injured he was leading their disposal count. Probably their best on ground that day.He played against Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval round 23 if you can watch the replay.
Well he is not slow then ...Very quick in a straight line, but it's not an overly used feature of his game.
EDIT: Just remembered he came second in behind Rhys Stanley in the grand final sprint six years ago

Its called special teams silly.LOL they didn't get him for kick outs...
Does anyone have access to Ancestry or any of those family lineage websites?
Interested if Trent is related to the three McKenzie brothers from the 1890's who played for Port Adelaide and were noted for their long kicking up to 70 yards (60m).
It's a long bow but there is a chance.
We expecting Pittard to play lots of SANFL are we?
LOL they didn't get him for kick outs...
Because he can kick long and inaccurately? The only reason Mckenzie has been given a second chance despite being bang average for a number of years is that he has an attribute very few players possess.
One can only hope
