I've been looking for a new game to start. Saw it in my recommendeds on the weekend.

I'll take the Dylan tick of approval and go with it.

I've kinda been putting off buying it coz every new game I've bought in the last few years has felt like a chore and I've given up on it after a couple of hours, and this game seemed like it had way too much going for it. Like if I felt that same nagging choredom with this game that sounds so up my alley I'd probably just give up on games altogether.

Anyway it's only been a few hours but I've laughed out loud on several occasions. The writing is great and the mechanics, as I'm figuring them out, are pretty cool and also funny. Can already see how it would be worth replaying a bunch.

Went and downloaded the Skyrim Anniversary update and been having fun with that. Introduced my 12yo to it and he promptly worked out he can use the new fishing rods as a weapon. Goes around whipping bandits with his 'rod.

Eldest has been playing Assassin's Creed: Valhalla which looks great but I get a sense it would get boring after a while as there doesn't seem to be too much variability in the quests.

I've just added some stat called Advanced Race Theory to my guy after talking to some futuristic black supremacist who said I was from the potato-obsessed Ham Sandwich Race, which might give you an idea for what this game is all about. Or not.

I actually tried firing up Skyrim again last week but I found the Nordic accent on all the characters drainingly repetitive and boring. For all its voice acting problems (pumping all its voice acting budget into two characters), Oblivion's characters still don't sound nearly as samey as Skyrim's.

Why is it that when an ad comes in and the acting is abysmally awful you know it’s going to be for life insurance or funeral insurance. What is it about these products specifically…

I've always wondered this same thing and I've never been able to find a satisfactory answer.

It's seriously one of the best game experiences I've ever had. The karaoke may be the best moment in gaming history.
