This is quite a few years ago now, but here's a Jewish British MP giving a speech on how Israel are acting like Nazis in Gaza.




What Hamas is doing is absolutely reprehensible and disgusting, of course. But when you treat people like animals for generations, it's not surprising that's what you get. From the Israeli side it seems like there's no solution other than wiping out Palestine completely.

Good on a bloke who is Jewish himself and lost close family members to the nazis in the holocaust, for going bang, crash, wallop on the Israeli's and there disgraceful treatment of the Palestinians.

I'm recruiting and unfortunately linkedin is important for this. So I posted the job etc. And its been ******* wall to wall recruiters, inmails, dms.

All from ******* useless people who cant even write a simple message, demand we meet in person to talk about the role or recruiters trying to sell me CVs of people who have already applied on their own. Know what they ask? 18% of the value of gross salary for the employee you appoint. I'm recruiting for a 180k job. 18% of that for giving me some random grossly unqualified indian blokes CV? (In many cases they cant even work for us due to visa)

I've had to screen all my calls, set email inbox rules to redirect bullshit to recruitment folders and worse of all, 120 applicants and honestly I dont think i'd bother contacting all but maybe 3, and even those are lukewarm.

I had an indian lady with nothing but payroll admin experience apply for the role lol.

I have responded to one bloke who messaged me on linkedin. He stood out because he was professional, not pushy and asked good questions.

I had a recruiter even email me getting my name wrong among other things, and then followed up twice more in 24h thereafter getting more pushy despite me never even responding.

Another called me three times and after I politely declined told me he deserved to recruit for the job because he had tried hard and liked some posts on linkedin promoting the company.

I'm just gonna start blocking these campaigners.

I hear there is a bright young IT consultant and football analyst working at PAFC. Do us all a favour and remove one Hinkley from the place

Re the never ending Gaza strip situation, the Palestinians have always been painted as the bad guys by Israel, with regular public support from numerous yank presidents to perpetuate that, but there was a Louie Theroux documentary I saw 3 or 4 years ago that gave a very different perspective.

The systematic removal of Palestinian families who had lived peacefully in apartment buildings and on farmland for generations, with Israeli families waiting nearby ready to move into the properties as soon as they were vacated was to say the least extremely eye opening, so it's no great surprise there is conflict again and numerous unnecessary deaths of innocent people from both sides.

The Israeli families literally move in to the middle of Palestine neighborhoods, like squatters, then have armed guards paid for to protect them, and some Aussie guy seemed to be running it.

I've contracted for nearly 20 years, probably two thirds of my work came via recruitment agencies.

The experience isn't much better on my side.

Usually they try to put you forward for anything and everything regardless of your experience or what you've told them you're chasing.

Personally it's got worse over the last few years as most of the recruiters I rated have moved up to better roles or out of the game completely. So I no longer have the same personal relationships which means the quality of work available to me has dropped off a fair bit.

I never could be bothered with LinkedIn. So unless I see it on seek, or word of mouth (usually old colleagues that are on LinkedIn) they're still a big part of me having options when it's time to try something new.
