He retired a long time ago and didn’t reveal any state secrets or anything, more just pub talk.
The jist of it was that there are a lot of murderers & sickos walking the street and if you knew what I know you wouldn’t sleep well at night
The coppers have a fair idea who they are and what they’ve done and try to keep tabs on them but it’s very difficult to secure a successful prosecution without a body or informant
My father in law bought a property in Glenelg South 30+ years ago & recognised it as one of the places the Beaumont kid’s clairvoyant singled out. Went to the cops to check, told nah mate we know what happened & it wasn’t there.

If only the Beaumont kid’s clairvoyant told them to give the beach a miss that day.. send me to the dad joke thread.

Can't get enough of Shane MacGowan's drunken mate walking into a mirror cos' he thinks it's a doorway lol

Are you proud to be born in Ireland?

****ing hell, do a minimum amount of research mate 😂

Imagine being like that most of the time and being able to come up with the lyrics he did. ****ing genius.

my old man today conceded that man made climate change is very real and concerning

Bit random, talking about the hot weather and he blurts out 'I think it's the climate change that we've done, the evidence is undeniable now. We've done something to the planet here'.

I was thinking similar however when you look at great writers, beat poets & lyricists there's quite a number that were brilliant drunken observers of life & people which translates into their work.

Get down there in the grit & see what you can remember sort of thing lol

Check out The Art of Tripping by Storm Thurgeson. Covers off on the historical relationship between artists and drugs.

I reckon you’d dig it.

The Pink Floyd album cover designer dude, he was behind the new Syd Barrett film as well although he died before it was completed I think.

I'm guesing the film you mention covers Huxley etc. sounds good.

Yep. His studio was Hipgnosis. First 'rockstar' graphic designer.

I haven't seen the Syd Barret film yet. Is it any good?

Covers off on a whole swathe of writers, artists, philosophers, musicians, etc.

Haven't seen the Syd film yet very limited cinema release & not streaming or any copies floating around on the net as far as I know. Annoying.

Lots of talented people came out of Cambridge in the 60's for some reason Storm was another.

That’s what I found curious
She claimed she hid in the scrub for about five hours whilst Murdoch and his dog searched for her with a torch
My German shepherd would have sniffed/ tracked her down in under a minute.
Perhaps Murdochs dog was more of a visual chase hound type dog rather than a sniffing/ tracking type dog
Who knows?
But then I was certain lindy chamberlain was guilty too, the media like to put a spin on things and the courtroom of popular public opinion don’t always get it right

As much as everyone probably thinks their dog can sniff and track someone those dogs who do it for a job have pretty damn extensive training and it’s for a reason.

It’s just as likely your average German Shepard is gonna rattle off on the trail of a dozen different animals / highway trash that takes their interest as just lock into a single scent and track that for hours.

Nah. The internet has already devolved into an advertising filled cesspit where any searches end up in the same aggregate pile of crap ad-riddled site. That'll get even worse as the number of AI written articles increase. It's getting harder and harder to find anything of actual substance with a google search these days.

Tech companies go under a fair bit, and the internet has a LOT of data. Someone has to pay hosting fees for that s**t. As an interweb message board veteran, I've already seen a bunch of sites I post on go under, some more then a decade ago. Shame, because there was some comedy gold there.

I’m old enough to remember when the internet was sold to us as all the information in the world at your disposal. That hasn’t turned out too well.

God help you if the subject you want to search shares a name or phrase similar to a Taylor Swift song.

Yeah, you can’t legitimately get to the heart of the human condition of you aren’t in the trenches in some way.
