.I read most of them as a student, don’t think I’d bother if I was a student these days. There’s too much other stuff accessible out there.
lol I went out and bought afl 23 yesterday, I went into with my eyes wide open as to how bad it would probably be and I’m still shocked.
Like , there’s just inexcusable stuff here. I get that there’s not as much money in it but there’s so many things wrong with it that just doesn’t even relate to money.
Like not being able to view heights of players you’re drafting, or at all in any modes.
What’s the point of having skills out of a 100 but only being able to adjust them in increments of 3 or more?
The bizarre ratings of players where all players are nearly rated the same (dumont 86 butters 88)
And so on.
Oh, and it won’t even load actual games yet, so I can’t even judge how bad it is to play.

Yeah I had read the first 2 a couple of times but always struggled to get past that...
Earlier this year I told my self I need to finish them (don't like leaving books ect unfinished) but it's a struggle... Once I finish the last of the OG 6 think I'll gladly put down and not read again.
There are some good bits and at times really enjoyed the story... But not again.

Biggest issue with not drinking is it puts you in the same category as Hinkley

The first book, Dune, captured my imagination as a 13yo like nothing else beforehand. I've reread it several times which is very rare for me. It's an incredible book just as a standalone.
I got through Dune Messiah and started Children of Dune but the story just didn't hold for me. From reading the synopsis of God Emperor Dune, I'm happy I called it quits when I did.
What are the prequel books like?

You also can't trade players to different clubs in exhibition mode. Best you can do is duplicate them. Esava plays for Port and Geelong now.
This is a feature that was in FIFA and NBA games 25 years ago. It was even in AFL games 15 years ago. It's not in this game.

Somewhat similar for me. Read Dune at 11, then continued on. Messiah was good, but after that they each got noticeably worse. I couldn’t make it through the 6th and certainly not going to do the money making follow ons by others. I’ll stick to the frustration of years / decades of waiting for Fantasy series to be finished. (**** you GRRM you lazy bastard).
Can’t trade draft picks during the draft, can’t use created players in career management mode only season mode
The list goes on and on.
The “they don’t have the money to do what other sports games do” just doesn’t fly when there’s a 1000 things they ****ed up on that are not only easily achievable, it’s amazing they haven’t done them. Things that aren’t really a cost.
There’s a selection for pronouns, but you can’t view a players height is probably the most absurd thing I’ve ever seen. Anywhere.

Then again, there's a bit of truth in Wake In Fright. Doctors coming out here just like Dr Loomis so their habits are scarcely noticeable. Then he starred in some show about Broken Hill hospital on the ABC.

Personally I enjoyed them; they're not as engaging or rich with mind-expanding concepts as the original Dune trilogy though. However I thought they did a pretty good job of setting up the circumstances that led to the main series. The way the entire series ends is a bit disappointing; surprising to a degree, but ultimately unsatisfying.

It was talked up so much despite the previous games not being THAT BAD because everyone thought the developer was better. The previous games were shit on so much by these fanbois.
Seeing the end product of AFL 23 was a real rollercoaster. The head of the studio was even on big footy shitting on the previous developer and talking up how their game will be a much better AFL experience.
Hasn't been seen a lot since then.

Yea it's social acceptance is so strong and ingrained it's a complete runaway train, it should cop the same heat as cigarettes if we were serious it's effects are worse and you'd basically cut violent & sexual crime by 75% overnight if it didn't exist.
