NBA stopping play to recognise a player breaking a record is about the same as Buddy kicking 1000. Shows how much our game has changed. No one will ever do that again and even Buddy won't get close to the record holders, some of whom only retired 20 years ago. Meanwhile in the NBA a 50 year old scoring record has been broken.

NBA is going the opposite direction to AFL in terms of scoring records. They're getting broken more and more often.

I wouldn't be surprised if somebody like Luka Doncic broke Lebron's record before his career was out. Or maybe the most hyped #1 draft pick since LeBron, Victor Wenbanyama. Or maybe somebody we've never heard of yet.

You ever wanted a photo to sum up living in the moment and our times take a look at this shot of LeBron's record breaking scoring shot.

Circled courtside is Nike founder Phil Knight.

Zoom in.

(Almost) No other person off court using their eyes on the moment but him.

Get your hand off it. This board doesn't respect anyone or anything. Have you not read anything on the various threads?

Same as Mcentee, I was the only one to defend Willie Rioli from the vile abuse he received on this board before and after his trade to Port. There was no respect whatsoever for the indigenous Willie Rioli.

Yet another blatant lie. And if you actually respected Junior's culture, you'd have gotten his name right.

There's no values on this board. Just read the thousands of posts of vile slander. The saddest part of it all is there's no shame or the slightest hint of self reflection with any of it either. It's just considered normal.

If you hate it so much then please do us all a favour, log out and never return. You don't want to be here, and god knows nobody wants you here.

The only thing that will stop doncic from breaking it will be health / longevity.

I feel like records should almost be adjusted for the rate at which the game has sped up.

The sports nerd pursuit of the ultimate objective measures for who is the best is so boring imho. The record is what it is.

Yep, it could be anyone, like this kid Cam Thomas from the Nets - 3 straight games of 40+ points.

Never seen so many mobile phones held up at the one time.

I dont think the speed is much different. The Nuggets once scored 184 pts in a game and lost.
The difference was both teams only shot two 3 pointers for the entire game (3OT).

It is just the sheer amount of 3 pointers being shot and made.

Anyone know what those tickets were going for? I have to imagine everyone in that photo spent thousands of dollars.

Read somewhere that a Lakers fan paid US$24K for a courtside seat. And imagine spending gazillions to get one of those seats and miss the 'moment' because everyone in front of you has their phone held up.

Another take of the moment. The (meh) reaction of AD is solid.

Perhaps he cared more about his team losing the game than LeBron's individual record?
