It's a bit simplistic to suggest that as an absolute good, given that the US has taken upon itself a central role in world politics since WWII and has accumulated various responsibilities around the globe.
He's the only President in history to incite his own supporters to overturn US democracy. His continued undermining of the last election is damning enough. He's a narcissistic crab who will say and do anything to please himself.
I don't think we need to assume his innocence, given the evidence we've already seen. And really, it's not as if Trump or his many mushrooms will acknowledge the court's finding, any more than they can accept the will of the people.
What a shithole of a place, shitshow of a situation, but at least it's entertaining.

Obama, Clinton, Carter and Biden are all presidents who didn't start a war.
In fact if you cared to actually find the truth, Trump wanted to start a war with Iran but was talked out of it by the US military as a lunatic idea. Drone strikes in foreign countries was actually higher under Trump than any other President.
Trump is a sh.t stain on humanity and as bad as he is, his supporters as a group are the dumbest group of people I have ever come across in over 60 years of my life.

I wouldn't worry about the martyrdom of the blokes in the article. They're rather apologetic and more than slightly pathetic, tears streaming down their faces as they lament the way that hatred took over their hearts.
As for an organised jailbreak, there's more chance of an assortment of Franga ice fiends pulling off an art heist at the Louvre.
A Presidential pardon from the Grifter-in-Chief is their best bet for early freedom.

Read about 50 pages, which is difficult given the strength with which his voice can be heard in the transcript.
His hurt at Forbes is amusing, as is his disbelief that the State of New York could so easily ignore all of the wonderful things he's done for the city.
But the section where he talks about the Presidency as a 'brand', and that the brand drew him to the job...that's the essence of the man. Shameless grifter.
I pity the prosecutors, but gee, hard not to have some sympathy for the poor bastards representing the mad narcissist.

Prosecutor Mulroe brought to the attention of Judge Kelly that Tarrio has never showed true remorse for the Capitol attack - even as the jury was deliberating his fate he gave an interview in front of thousands of people online, declaring that the Proud Boys did nothing wrong on that day.

Even in their pleading before the court it's clear that Tarrio and the others still don't quite understand the depth of the subversion they've been found guilty of.
No one ever accused them of being bright sparks, I suppose.
It probably won't dawn on them until Donald appears in an adjacent cell.

I'm not easily moved, not since the wrenching drama of The Wonder Years finished, but this part of Don's speech did something for me.
In particular, it made me think of a time in my life when I will no longer know who I am, and I'll no longer recognise my friends or family, no longer be capable of chewing solids, a time when I'll be uncaring of the mess I make in my own pants.

The other day, Marjorie Taylor Greene made a casual suggestion that some Southern States might secede from the Union if Joe Biden couldn't manage things better.
It made me think about the petulance of Trump supporters.
When justice is done and the Douche is led away to a federal facility which might not even have a golf course, is there any chance that his supporters and their hatred for reality won't spill over into an armed insurrection?
Trumpists don't care for the justice system. The only thing which matters to them is that Joe Biden is guilty too, of something, and that Hunter Biden might be smoking crack, and an agent of chaos like Don shouldn't be imprisoned if someone else is allowed to walk free.
No care for the justice system, and no care for democracy. They are traitors who hate the US as much as any redneck confederate, and they're taking America to a very dark place at a time when some balance against China is most needed.

There is a brilliant American doco called "Active Measures' that was made in 2016 that details how the US will be brought down by Russian influences.
'Active Measures' are a group of various ways another country can be brought down by division of its citizens. It was taught to KGB Agents as a more subtle form of active attack on another nation. It includes using lies on social media to stir up division in another country. And this has working disturbingly well in the US. The so called Hillary Clinton 'email scandal' was one of its first direct hits that helped Trump to get elected.
The first part of the doco details what a murderous bastard Putin is and the second part focuses on all the Trump-Russia connections, which are many. One disturbing example is the fact that Trump tower in New York is full of unregistered Russian businesses connected to the Russian mafia, or oligarchs, as the doco prefers, and to the Kremlin. All laundering money into the US.
Another disturbing connection is that after Trump went bankrupt for the 6th time, no American bank would loan him money, so the favoured Russian 'mafia' bank, Deutsche Bank stepped in to save his incompetent neck.
As bad as Trump is, his supporters are collectively the dumbest group of morons on the face of this earth. Marjorie Taylor Greene being a good example. This stupid, dumb bitch can be seen in a You Tube video harassing a parent who lost his child in the 'Sandy Hook' school massacre. She claimed he was just an actor and it was all fake as she followed him down the street on his way to a Senate inquiry into the school massacre. And to think this shit satin of a human is an elected representative.

It sounds like an interesting documentary and ironically a lot of people who are 'outraged' at the Republican movement would simply like to see Uncle Sam be brought to its knees once and for all and wouldn't bat an eyelid for its people who would suffer. I remember in a tutorial back in the day during the GFC a left winger said, she 'just didn't care' about people losing their homes and this was greeted with nods of approval.
Even myself when I was really young being raised in a left-wing household, I wanted George Bush JNR to be elected because he would be an incompetent leader. Gosh I was switched on wasn't I!
To a large percentage of the global population including in the West, Russia is doing God's work. Trump will be a disaster and he's a certainty to be elected. Interesting times.
I know I've been labeled a Deeming (based on zero evidence) shill; but let's just hope that in the madness of this world Dutton doesn't get elected in 2025, that would be a disaster for our country.
