It does! True Detective s1 is a thing of beauty. S2 is entertaining enough.
Perfect summation.
Season 1 was a cracker
Next series very good but not like season 1

It's quite good, interesting premise, everyone gets killed so lower ranking cabinet member becomes President.

Series really works it's way finishing very strongly. Been good. Kiefer Sutherland is excellent, as expected.

I don't know how you got so far with it. I also don't know why, in order to have a multifaceted female lead, Hollywood necessitates that she be a total ****. She was interesting enough with her intelligence, feistiness and anxiety, without her having to sleep with the subject of her investigation within five minutes.
I almost gave Homeland away after she rooted that young kid in about season 4 I think it was. Was just ridiculous. Season 5 I thought was an improvement on the previous couple though.

I'm going to go against the grain a bit here. I had high expectations for Westworld with so many people raving about it. It took me a couple of tries to get started on it and I just kept waiting for it to 'get good'. Just didn't happen for me.

Not usually my cup of tea however, I'm enjoying Sense8 on Netflix.
Just finished re-watching it and the New Year episode.
I love the show has a bit of everything that has ever been made in it :).
Can't wait for the second series.

I heard exactly the same thing.

Seemed to have a lot of hype around it and just petered out.

It's surprisingly difficult narrowing it down, I could probably come up with 5 from the Wire on its own I won't put Tyion and Omar in my top 5 although they probably are.

5. Valchek from the Wire.
4. EB Farnham
3. Saul Goodman (although just from BB, Better Call Saul has ruining him imo)
2. Marty Distasio or Brook Vandenberg from Frontline.
1. Al Swearengen

It's f*cking impossible. Remember Clay Davis*?

Swearengen is up there. Brenda from Six Feet Under, Roger Sterling from Mad Men, Bam Bam Funkhouser from Curb Your Enthusiasm, your avatar's namesake from Game of Boobs, Hank Kingsley from Larry Sanders.

lol I totally forgot about Clay Davis, he'd definitely be high up in my top 5. If I did a top 5 from the Wire it would be:

1. Clay Davis
2. Valchek
3. Jay Landsman
4. Sergei/Boris
5. Bunk

Really though the amount of characters and their depth in that show was amazing. i'm now seriously considering watching it again tbh :(

Roger from MM is also a good one. If Colbert of the Colbert Report can be classified as a tv fictional character then I probably put him in as well.

oh and also Silvio Dante from Sopranos cracks me up:

Never forget Hank Kingsley. Respect yo!

My drive crashed that had all the seasons of Larry Sanders, great show.

Add Artie to your list of TV great characters, well for me anyway.
He was the Jerry Stiller of his day.

Why the sad face? Everytime I watch it, it gets better and better. So many great characters. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Bubbles. Really enjoyed his story throughout the whole show.

Hard to narrow down my favourites. The usual suspects are high on the list: Bunk, Bubbles, Landsman, Omar, Bodie, Prop Joe. Later on some of the stuff from Slim Charles and Cheese was also pretty good. Ziggy had a couple moments in season 2.

Paulie and Silvio were probably my favourites from The Sopranos.

Only a sad face because I know how much time I'll spend watching it :D. It seriously is a work of art imo.

Took me until the third episode to really get into it. You did finish the season?

I did finish it. It was ok. I just didn't think it was as great as it was made out to be.

Fair enough I can see where you are coming from. I liked it but some people were saying it was the best tv show of the year. Don't necessarily agree with that. My biggest query with it is how far can it go? Really can see it going nowhere after a few season like Lost did.
