Honestly didn’t think they would select all 3 of Heeney, Bolton and Stengle. Blicavs as well? Seems like a massive Geelong circle jerk, which I guess is to be expected when you finish first. All Australian small forward

Tyson only AA due to the combination of selecting too many forwards in the forward line combined with a conspiracy theory on a Geelong bias.
He’s the gift that keeps on giving is BACCS.
I guess well never knowYou think he is really an All Australian if he doesn't play for Geelong?
I think he would have been underwhelming in our side.
Let’s hope!He won't be in the same class as Rankine by the time their careers end.
I guess well never know
May as well sell Josh thenI know. And the answer is absolutely not.

I was happy to let him go.. wouldn’t have been selected ahead of our gun small forwards anywaySacking him will basically cost us pick 5 and 750k for 5 years.
Fixed that for you..Well done to Hamish and the talent identification team - damn shame we didn’t get the benefits on this occasion but ultimately some individuals need to be accountable for their own behaviour.
As a club we are CLEARLY the best at identifying and recruiting/trading for elite small forwards. In Hamishs reign Betts, Cameron, Stenge and now Rankine. Blows everyone else out the park
Even All Australian quality players will struggle hereI like how there’s always a pivot that’s available. People can just go from ‘he’s no good, no loss, will he playing ammo’s soon’ to ‘he was never going to be that good with us’. They’re never wrong.
Oh and also Fogarty sucks because he's no good, no other reasonI like how there’s always a pivot that’s available. People can just go from ‘he’s no good, no loss, will he playing ammo’s soon’ to ‘he was never going to be that good with us’. They’re never wrong.
It does feel like he has got the nod because it’s a feel good story for the AFL. Charlie should not have missed the team. Tom Stewart over Sicily and Blicavs over Lynch the other baffling Geelong selections.I think Charlie Cameron was very unlucky not to get the nod.
Had 47 goals to Stengles 46.
Teams #1 goal kicker. Teams #3 goal kicker.
Had 19 Goal Assits (7th in AFL) to Stengles 11 (83rd in AFL)
Had 46 tackles inside 50 to Stengles 16.
All of this without the benefit of having 2 of the best key forwards helping him out.
Only one All Australian jumper for Charlie Cameron despite being the leading small forward in the AFL over the past 4 seasons.

Let's hope no one else we draft needs a supportive environmentI like how you always incorrectly explain what other posters are saying.
No pivot from me. He has had a brilliant season and turned his career around. Hats off to him.
But this isn't some Hugh Greenwood gaff, either. All 18 clubs had a chance to get access to him in the preseason draft, they all passed for the same reasons we released him in March of 2021.
It's no coincidence that the below was written in October 2021.
Stengle will also live with Betts and wife Anna when he moves to Victoria. “I feel like I’m his older brother,” Betts said in Geelong on Thursday. “I felt really bad because he lived there with me and my wife (Anna) and we were pretty hard on him and kept him on the straight and narrow. “When we left, all this stuff started happening, not saying it’s because we left but it was tough seeing that from Melbourne.
“My best interests are that Tyson gets back and playing AFL footy. If he comes to Geelong, that would be great.”
I think when the decision was made by the Crows - we didn't have the systems and culture to get the best out of Stengle. Geelong and their stability, continued success were the perfect landing spot - not to mention he could live with Eddie and Anna.
Hopefully to not that degree, Stengle's case seems fairly unique in that it appears there is only one person that can get the best out of him. Given Rankine has mentioned family reasons for his move home, it wouldn't surprise me to see him have a similar rise to Stengle and take his game to the next level with better support off field.Let's hope no one else we draft needs a supportive environment

Soligo and Rachele signing on for 4 years before they played a game is also a positive sign in that regardWell s**t. Did you take a vacation the last 5 years?!?!?!? Ya think we had a culture in early March of 2021 that was able to nurture and get the best out of Stengle?
We haven't been a good and supportive environment at all. Thats why we brought in Nicks. Hopefully its changed now as evidenced by both Dawson/Rankine nominating us and us not losing anyone (so far) in 2021/2022.
I thought it was the correct decision at the time, clearly it wasn't. Not sure why people prefer mental gymnastics to just admitting an error.I like how there’s always a pivot that’s available.
