Roast Tyson Stengle sacked after ****ing up again

Ever asked yourself why Adelaide couldn’t straighten him out, and Geelong not only straightened him out but turned him into a premiership-winning superstar?

If you haven’t, then you should.

He was just plum out of chances.

There's no room for forgiveness in our club. Unless you're a CEO that cheated the salary cap costing two first round picks. Or a fitness guy who injured half the team. Or a board member that tells fans to support another team. Or a recruiter who continually blows first round picks. Or a coach who has a 30 percent win percentage after three years. Or a player who has never been best on after 199 games.

3rd chance.

Maybe when you find yourself throwing away your career, you change yourself for the better to even get yourself more fitter....just maybe that's what happened, very plausible conclusion don't you think?

Oh right, I see.

If anything we're actually to credit for his turn around! Another glorious AFC triumph!

Eddie lived in Melbourne and played for Carlton.

That is why. Pretty obvious.

He and his family was a massive support for him, which we couldn't replicate.

He has that support now. As he did at WWT.

Doubt Carlton would be too happy Eddie helping a Crows player out like that.

It’s simple. When Eddie left. Support dried up. Noticed too late.
Back With uncle which Geelong have happily facilitated. Winning.

We can't compete with the resources on offer at WWT?

Name another player who has had two drug related issues and had another chance?

In your answer consider the treatment of Wayne Carey.

The AFL and the clubs are petrifued of public association with white powder.

Geelong were petrified of his reputation?

Why are so many melting here? Move on ffs, if we had Stengle we wouldn’t be making finals anyway, well done to him, we are no where near it but in 3-5 years time we will be in with another crack at it.
Well it’s a melt from many angles for starters.

Why are you wasting time arguing no AFL club would touch him? We already know it's false.

It was one thing to get this wrong at the time, but try not to be so cretinous that you're still wrong with the benefit of hindsight.

Regarding his last indicretion, he wasn’t even sanctioned. That was by the club.

Eddie and Anna helped out there too. I wonder of him requesting to be delisted was part of being able to get that support.

Also an element of "oh **** I just passed my career away".

Always been talented.

I understand the angst here about the situation.

But it is pretty obvious when you step back and look at it, the solution was the support of Eddie and his family.

And we couldn't replicate that.

Other clubs will still give these players a chance if they've shown to have change particularly if you had Eddie act as a guarantor but had Stengle stuff up even once at Geelong, he would have been sacked as well. What is it you don't get???

So you can't name one.

Every club over looked him in the midseason draft he was eligible for.

Geelong did take a punt, but also a calculated one as they also employed Eddie.

Ask the question. Did Tyson Stengle let us down with his behaviour?
Did AFC let Tyson down by not giving him enough support?
in light of This Hawthorn thing. It is what it is.
It was a mess. It’s not a mess any more. Tyson is out the other side. Good on him.
