Roast Tyson Stengle sacked after ****ing up again

Under the AFL illicit drugs policy, a 3rd strike is a 12 game ban, not a 12 month ban.

Supposedly if you have some diagnosed minor mental health issue … then no strike is recorded for a detection, so you can basically do what you like …. ie Bailey Smith.

No no, stop bringing facts into this, the apologists gave those away a long time ago

It was interesting to hear Eddie say over the weekend that Geelong is a great fit for Tyson because they let him just play football on instinct.

We're definitely more interested in a structure with our small forward crop than flair and goalkicking.

We let him go because we didn’t think the talent matched the hassle

We were wrong

I knew he was good. We didn't have faith in him. And when he had that drink driving issue the club should have sorted the issue out instead of just giving up on him. I don't think he was happy here due to the limited opportunities. Now he is about to possibly get a premiership medal. Frampton might be next.

Geelong is a better fit because they have a good midfield and have superstar forwards who he can crumb off ... and we played mchenry and Murphy ahead of him...

If he was still here we'd still be playing them ahead of stengle be ause we are afc and that's how we've always done things and that's why we're like 25years without a premiership.

Imho stengle is currently overrated because he has a great team in geelong supporting him. He would still be the same stengle if he played in our current side. That really comes down to shitty recruiting and coaching. We'll done to geelong to getting the best out of him.

I'm not glad... I'm stating that he would never be an AA player on OUR list because..

We would not play him ahead of Murphy and mchenry.
He would struggle in our forward line because we have a shit team.

He would still be shit here because we are afc and geelong are geelong.

Agree with this to a degree. There can be no doubt that the amount and quality of F50 entries, and forward setup, at Geelong would be better and provide more opportunities to score.
Stengle has the same talent at both clubs, but plays better at one because of this. Insert him in our 1997 team and he's better than in our 2020 team

This is only a small part of the story.
If you listen to what the man himself has said, he was an unfit bad boy in Adelaide and going to Geelong to join Eddie has straightened out the off-field problems that were limiting his onfield performance.
For example, look at the size of his stomach now to what it was in Adelaide. ;)

Not to discount what he's done cause he's had a good year, but definitely helps having good targets up forward. We almost turned Jared Petrenko into a goal a game forward in 2012 and got 40 odd goals from Callinan too.

Yep, fair call

I think it's fair to say that on raw ability it can be questioned as to whether Stengle is the best small in the comp. The system at Geelong helps significantly.

Surely Reid would be fuming about Stengle.

He identified a young SA talent, convinced them to come home, sealed the deal for a pick in the 60s - then we threw him away for nothing.

Stengle has multiple goals to half time in a match Geelong are likely to win. But he had a chance to kick the first goal at one point and it was smothered so... Adelaide's choices vindicated?

Stengle making a play for the Jack Gunston we sure showed them award

When you leave the AFC the only way is down cup

Really shits me that Stengle gives nothing to the Crows then gets ANOTHER chance at Geelong ( who I doubt are under the salary cap)
And then gets his act together and takes a premiership medal home in his first year.
It's SUCH a Vic centric competition.
Fremantle v Hawks - Freo flogged
Sydney V Geelong - Sydney flogged
Port V Geelong - Port flogged
Adelaide V Richmond - Crows flogged

West Coast by a couple points due to a lucky none umpire call and a miracle kick.

Almost time to stop fantasizing as a interstate supporter.

When are we going to close this thread? Self-flagellation if I’ve ever seen it. A common Crows Big Footy posters favourite past time, I know, but let it go.
