Under Age U17s - 2026 AFL Draft General Discussion

Seems like WA have a very strong team this year. They belted ACT to the tune of 86 points to follow up their 94-0 win over Queensland. I'd expect WA to beat Vic White (Country?) tomorrow as well.

From a Queensland perspective, the standouts appear to be Gold Coast's Archie Hill & Jackson Jarvis as well as Brisbane Cooper Hodgey (yes, Hodgey's son). All three have been named in the bests for Queensland in both games and you'd probably expect that to continue against the ACT tomorrow. So perhaps those three are potentially in line to be named in the U15 AA team this year. It would appear that the real standout for Queensland this year is Broadbeach's Archie Hill from what I can tell. Can anyone confirm these thoughts?

Hill and Jervis are very good players, standouts in this age group. Hodge is a solid player, but there are kids not there as good as him or better and I'd say other kids in the team like Levi and Owens are currently better players. However, kids improve rapidly and the step up in class might be bringing Cooper's best footy out. I've only watched 1.5 games so far on the stream, and Jervis has been their best.

Thanks for the context. I see Jarvis was named in the bests (again) in Queensland's 111-point win over the ACT earlier today. Surely Jarvis will be in line for an AA jumper should he be named in the bests tomorrow when they face Tasmania in the 3rd place playoff...

I don’t understand how QLD could possibly be playing off for third, when Metro, Country, SA and WA all have better results and records.

Just explained this in the other thread. Mistake on my behalf. More of a 5th placed playoff even though we'll never actually know if the 3rd/4th placed SA is deserving of a higher position than QLD.

Pretty tricky conditions with the wind. WA defensively very impressive after a slow start.
SA blew a few opportunities in the first 7 minutes and kept WA in it.

Lucas Robinson was outstanding for WA marking everything across half back.

Thatcher Simmons tried hard without things going his way. Played behind the ball going against the wind.

After watching Vic Navy before this game the final should be a belter

A few of them may be incorrect as some of the boys had already swapped jumpers and had to borrow off teammates for the photo 😂

Cheeky/naughty buggers.

Hopefully the list comes through on the SSA FB page sometime.

I've been led to believe Jackson Jarvis is Queensland's best player in this age group so it's not surprising to see he got named in the AA team. Nice to see another two Queenslanders made the AA team too (Archie Hill and Cooper Hodge?).

Facebook confirms the one at the back is Taj Murray, Jai’s brother.

Up front matches up with Coop.
