At least David King had a crack at the umps and the AFL on First Crack.

He said the fans aren't happy and are starting to vote with their feet. Something needs to give.

But the AFL CEO is an absolute disaster and won't do a thing the weak as piss polo player. Bloke has f>>ed the game.

Is the AFL the worst run sporting body in the world or what? FMD even full on corrupt ones like FIFA have their shit more together than these gooses.
AFL could teach fifa about corruption

It's high time 50m penalties were added to free kick counts. The four clubs that have been penalised the least have 29 between them. Guess who has 28...

Was about to post the same thing….we have given away 1 less than Demons Dockers Blues Suns between them.

Or….we have given away 1 less than the next two highest, the completely dysfunctional Eagles and Roos.

Get f*cked.

Look at the 50 against Bolton in the 1st when he was tackled and the ball was left on the ground, you could go through over 100 times the exact same thing has happened this season but no 50 was paid.
If I'm thinking of the same one, after seeing the replay it was clearly a 50 against Bolton, his hand was under the ball and he just let it stay on the ground instead of scooping it up.

There were quite a few other decisions which didn't get replayed though, makes me wonder if the AFL have someone in the control room ticking off what they replay.

My point is that it is supposed to be 50 according to the stricter interpretations this season, but it simply never gets paid. You could go through 100 incidents of a tackled player leaving the ball on the ground before you find the last 50m penalty they paid for that. For some reason they always decide to randomly apply rules against us. If they actually were consistent in how they adjudicate the game Bolton wouldn’t be leaving the ball on the ground because he would know that it’s 50.

Once again it looks like the Tigers will be involved in another game that will be indirectly affected by media scrutiny. This time it will be the knee jerk reaction from the over officiating of the Hawks v Brisbane game and our Firday night game vs Swans being the AFL' first chance to over correct the situation.

So get ready for a game of almost anything goes unless you are wearing a black and yellow jumper. Will be interesting how the AFL handle the situation and their directive to umpires.

Subsequent games after Friday night of course will then be officiated differently to tweak the interpretations yet again, the AFL is an amateur organisation at times. Let's see if they prove me wrong.

Hilarious.
At a mates party yesterday and I was talking to a bloke about how terrible the umpiring is.
He was a ****ing AFL umpire!
He laughed his arse off, agreed the rules are stupid and got another beer!
Was a bloody good bloke.

they were absolutely destroyed by the scumps against the new umpires pets the blooze last week

the umps are going to use us as their reward game for that reaming

Haha na this one was Dore, his old man was an umpire too.
Imagine the family dinners!
“This is a bit burnt”
“**** off!! Dissent!!l

We genuinely need the umpires to start speaking up here, they're the ones who are copping it from all angles. They have an impossible job. Sure they can technically never get a call wrong because of all the rule conflicts, but FFS it'd be a frustrating gig.

On another note, when they're yelling out 'stand' all the time they sound like an ineffective dog trainer.

It's an interesting point

For all the awful decision we see, there are examples where umpires "let things go" in a way that has us as fans applauding them, but under strict interpretation would not be to the letter of the law

& in these scenarios, when they return to the peanut factory which is AFL HQ, maybe they get punished. A cycle that contributes to a terrible inertia in making good decision on game day

The over-officiating is out of control.

How long before an AFL team decides to start conceding professional fouls? Make a hard tackle, bury the opposition player on the ground with the ball underneath him and chew up 10 seconds to let your defence get set. If you are a kick and a half from goal and can't get a clear stoppage win then it may be the best play. It would be ugly, but if it wins a game of football then will somebody start to coach it?
Sorry, 50m for that.
You moved your hand... Umpire dissent
Shot on goal from the goal line!

No coincidence the dissent rule coincided with the over-officiating and raft of bizarre and bewildering decisions we've seen this season.

The NFL happened to introduce the taunting rule the same time as betting was becoming legalised in the US; umpires there now have a mechanism to reverse the result of a play if they decide a team celebrates it too hard - how convenient...

I'm not sure of exactly what the money-trail is here, but no doubt it exists...
