yes,

The AFL is totally trying to sabotage the club with the biggest fanbase that generates the most revenue for them.

If they wanted to * over anyone, it would be a minnow club that gives them little, not a big club.
Opposite take. They can’t afford to f over the minnows as they literally might die. Look at North, they’re on the brink even with all the assistance. The AFL does a number on them and it could very well be curtains.

Us on the other hand are big and strong enough that we don’t need to be successful on field to be successful off field. We’ll still be a powerhouse if and when we sink and they know it.

It wasn't and shouldn't have been a 50 metre penalty as there hadn't been a free kick yet. The reportable contact was the free kick... which was paid downfield... in this case about 5 metres. They then had an opportunity to check on Prestia as they had blown time on... which they didn't... then proceeded to let play continue while Prestia was in lala land.

Why didn't someone actually come in and remonstrate? Townsend would have spent the rest of the match attempting to get payback.

Think Jack said it on 360 - everyone was so focused on the ball leaving the area, not many, if any at all, still had eyes on Prestia.

It's not like Stewart ran through a contest and took out Prestia, which we would've seen remonstration.

They literally see the cash held by the big clubs as shared resources available to be used to support the rest of the league. It's why us, Hawks, Pies and WCE all had our distributions reduced by $2m this year.

They only care about our cash. And the only way to hurt them is by not giving them cash. Which means not buying memberships, going to games, watching, etc. Either that or the four big clubs going to the AFL and telling them to get ****ed we are starting another league.

I don’t understand what’s so hard to understand about the AFL not wanting dynasties. Their entire business model is based on a false premise of “equalisation”.

They don’t want heartland teams constantly near the top so they handicap the fixture and bring in all manner of other measures (including rules changes) to stop run ons.

It’s a design feature of the competition architecture. Just hasn’t been as blatant as it has been in the last few years.

i want to know why the RFC does not go to the AFL and ask for a please explain , not just for the cats game but for all games this year
and if they don't get a satisfactory answer then get an independent inquiry and threaten legal action
This s**t has to stop

We won’t do Jack shit, we just lube up and bend over , I mean we still haven’t said anything about the umps either .

Ok , I’ll have to go back and watch the incident to digest all that.

Re our boys not remonstrating , I’m not certain how many of them were immediately aware of it . Then there’s
the fine that comes with melees/ wrestling.

Didn’t see any assistance for Pickett either , when he was having his eyeballs massaged by Cameron. Marlion himself is a bit lighter in the pocket.

I’m proud of what our club has done in dragging itself out of debt and becoming a powerhouse of the AFL. But as you point out there’s no benefit in being financially strong, we can’t even spend it on boosting our coaching stocks or improving our medical team. The soft cap has resulted in clubs cutting spending in those areas.

If Stewart gets any Brownlow votes (which he will) for this game the Richmond table should get up and walk out en mass.

Hmmm yeah i just seen Riewoldts interview on tv saying that Stewart was a good bloke , our players shaking Stewart’s hand after the game , seriously if they knew what happened and shook his hand then that’s pretty ordinary

No mate, it is and should've been a 50 metre penalty, infringing a player by taking him out of the play when he has the possibility to participate in that sequence. The rule was introduced just over a decade ago, and was first used against Richmond (of course) at Kardinia Park when GA Jr was scragged after making a handball, resulting in a 50m metre penalty and a goal to Geelong.

From wiki

"There are also two types of in-play infringement for which a 50-metre penalty is automatically applied on top of the initial free kick. These are:
  • A free kick for illegally holding or impeding a player's ability to participate in the "next act of play", for example by preventing a player from receiving a handball while running into open space"

That will happen, 100%, as it has in sports all around the world and if this rubbish continues by the AFL it will happen sooner rather than later.

Well, JAck knows f all. A free was given to Graham just five meters away from it happening how on earth can they miss that. Umpires are a disgrace not even giving Prestia a free and fifty and letting play go on over a fallen player twice while people are running to aide him.
He should have gotten 6 to 8 weeks. Kingy and Kornes more or less in the media are the only ones that called it a dog act. Headline today Cat gets a monster ban for sickening act than i see 4 weeks lol

Another poster showed a few screencaps of how quickly Stewart vacated the area too. Belted Prestia did a 180 and legged it before anyone knew what was going on. Never looked back.

Disagree, these are never paid 50 unless it’s a clear 1-2 about to happen and the bloke gets held after a handball. There’s no way we can categorically say Prestia would’ve got the ball back from Graham.

A clear 50 they missed was Cameron running in to protected zone with about 1 minute left in the 2nd quarter, the bloke was literally within 1m of HRS.

But that would mean we receive a 50m penalty. I'm not sure that the AFL and the umpire have systems in place for such and event.

Anyone got the GIF of the Richmond player pushed over after a mark and no 50. Late in the game Cat went down in the marking contest and 50.

So yeah, 50s are not for the Richmond Football Club - except giving away

it would need to be ticked off first.

I get the most frees against, its the least frees for. How are teams only disciplined the weeks they play us?

I'm thinking this bloke is a Collingwood supporter looking at the last few weeks.

Saying our game was umpired superbly is beyond a joke.

I have a feeling he is a guy who umpires juniors.

Reminds me of a chick I went to high school with who goal umpired her sons U15 or 17 games and thought she could get on fb and comment like she was a 300 game AFL field umpire.

ye all of the outspoken ump apologists are local umps with a chip on their shoulder

In his post-match presser in the NRL last night, Roosters coach Trent Robinson has absolutely blasted the referee for his poor performance in last nights game v Panthers, including incorrect decisions, and non-decisions that have resulted in scoring opportunities to the opposition, and cost his side the game. Take a look at this video, which includes part of that presser, followed by the commentary team breaking the decisions down as well. Roosters coach blasting the refereeing
Not sure what rules the NRL have in place regarding participants (teams & commentary) making comment on the refereeing, but no mention by anyone about a possible penalty for him speaking out. Seems to be a good environment that you can, and should do this, after a poor performance by an adjudicator.
Just wish we could do it in the AFL, to highlight the facts of what keeps happening to us week in week out. You should be able to hold the umpires accountable for ineptitude. Imagine if Dimma could let loose?

Any chance we could see the likes of Whately, Robbo & Co push that barrow? Of course not!! Too busy kissing the AFL on the ****

Even when clubs, players and supporters think the game might an even run, this account reminds us of the pathetic spotlight diva's this bunch have really are.

Every game now, the intense bright light from the anus of the AFL goes straight to the 3 whistles and the absolute gobshite, now branded to as "Common Sense". The gobshite that now changes out week in week out, game to game, confusing the crap out of all and sundry.

In reality, the rules fraternity have been basking, pausing for their "me" moments from behind the boo hoo façade of "we need more, more power cause youse is all bullying us!". Safe in their belief, that they are the swinging dicks of the 2022 season.
