Unique DT Players

H.Taylor and Nick Smith the only genuine uniques i considered, just couldnt fit them into my structure down back and didnt have the balls to pick them.

K.Simpson probably the highest scoring unique from the weekend, hes also an extremely good pick.

Gets overlooked a lot from the Carlton trio of Judd, Murphy and Gibbs, but is every bit as good as them for DT

Also if you look last year he was avg ~112 in his first 8 games and than picked up a continuing knee injury from round 13 onwards (Around that time). This injury affected 2 games that he got it in badly and the rest of the season. It made him avg around 90, he also picked up a tag during this time which baffles me when you have Judd and Murphy in your side. Add to that Gibbs and you know he starts 4th in line every week. Super pick, personally cant see him avg any less than 110.

I've got 2 big uniques

S. Salopek (0.89%)
B. Stanton (2.75%)

Pretty happy with their outputs after round 1. Salopeks big test will come this week against West Coast, and will say a lot for whether I made the right call. He scored 77 (+10% on his 2010 Avg) against the best side in the comp, so I'm looking for a minimum 92-95 this week against a depleted West Coast side coming off a 6 day break.

Been very surprised from this thread how unique Simpson & Murphy are, neither of them ever seem to get injured and are consistent 100pt scorers. Maybe everyone went for Judd instead.

Personally went with Murphy as he was only an extra 3k and is still improving and more of a goalkicker, while Simpson is at or around his peak.
L Anthony and J Laidler my other uniques, both did ok for their pricetag. As long as Laidler continues to outscore Otten im happy, who I traded out for him at the last minute.

Good unique picks after round 1:
- Rawlings 2.8%
- Ward 3.4%
- Fyfe 5.4%

Bad unique picks after round 1:
- Everitt 4.2%

So can't complain too much. If Everitt doesn't tear it up this week he'll be promptly downgraded before prices change.

A lot of people will be frightened off by the round 23 bye that Carlton have. As many people already have Gibbs, having 2 or 3 more Blues becomes problematic. Same with Stanton for round 24.

I had Murphy in my team all preseason right until he sat on the bench with his knee iced in their last practice match. Or was that FUD? Either way I heard something along those lines and FREAKED.

Swallow with 114 would be my best unique, if he even is a unique

his very unique imo. i have him, and for his price is an absolute steal.

on the murphy thing. he went off half way through his 2nd preseason game but looked fine. i dont know where the knee rumour came from but it certainly scared me off. the fact he didnt play the last pre season game was more reason not to get him. he will be a nice upgrade target if he stays consistant

Everyone got their piece of Fyfe by now?... if you didnt pick him in your starting line-up.

McEvoy..really happy with his scores so far. 100 last night was awesome considering he had a very slow start to the game.

Just wondering why most people kept clear of him.

He was cheap and provided handy extra cash to get another gun MF'er.

He had good form in the NAB, looking like he had added some bulk/weight.

I reckon he has reached a certain level of maturity in his game and he will have a really solid season.

He's 36 points behind Sandi so he's a minimum of that much behind those with Cox/Sandi.

Where's the proof the $160k make you that many points Shane?

This is true..

I have a plan in place to get the purple giant later on in the season for McEvoy.

But in saying that, if McEvoy keeps around the 100-105 mark, the midifielder i sqeezed in (Watson) with the money I saved should make up for any future big Sandilands scores.

Or maybe I'm deluded..

The main reason I didn't go with Sandilands first up, really was about his fitness more than how cheap McEvoy was.

I'm just not convinced Sandilands is 100%. With this 3 man bench, he has to do a ton of work and I was worried he might break down somewhere in the first 4 or 5 rds.

I bet thousands of DT players with Sandilands had a heart attack when he hobbled off early in the Geelong game...only to get his foot re-strapped.

Those giants legs of his will be taking a battering each game he plays...

Enright - only 11% of teams own this guy. i buy him every year.
ASwallow - owned by about 5% of teams.
Rockliff - not worth his price from his first two outputs. owned by less than 3% of teams.
...and Ricky Henderson, but he's not exactly a great unique pick. mostly have him because he's one of my fav players :)

I cannot believe how few bought Enright. People must of went for Broughton, Duffield or Bruce over him. I dont know why.

Finals bye is my guess.

It's why I didn't. Mistaaaaaaaaaaake.

I have Marc Murphy and Enright, but I didn't view either of them as unique. Among decent DT teams they're not unique.

Is Astbury unique? Because he's the one really shit aspect of my team so far. I expected him to average 60+ but it doesn't look like he'll do that. I'll probably trade him for Tapscott this week.
