Been to two shows in the last few weeks (first post COVID) and it's been so awesome. Great to watch good live music with other likeminded people and have random chats. Got a hug from a punter on the weekend for my Gojira shirt, he really really likes that band ha ha
Were you at Monolith?

That's why pub gigs are so good, generally a way better atmosphere. Of course stadium gigs have to be done sometimes, I'm going to see Guns and Roses at the end of the year. I'm sure the tickets were ridiculously expensive, but I'm seeing a local metal band next month for 30 bucks and will be better in some ways.
Yeh I can get behind this. Listening to the in laws stories of seeing The Bee Gees lads and Bob Dylan in little back alley joints when they were younger sounds unreal. The Guns and Roses is probably more what I’m talking about. I looked up tickets to the killers concert and the cheapest were $100. So I’m gonna pay $100 to sit in shit seats, battle a crowd in, deal with assholes ruining the songs, stand in lines for a piss and a beer (then pay $12.50 for one).

That just sounds shit to me.
No better place than a live show.
I did a lot of gigs and sets and stuff as a younger man and I would have whole heartedly agreed back then.

I'm looking forward to checking out a live show again. Been a while. Seeing Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett on Friday. The stadium (BC Place) doesn't have great sound and I think Vince Neil's voice is shot but should still be fun.
My condolences. You wont hear much from Vince Neil as he can't sing anymore. He spends most of his time with the mic out facing the crowd and the back up singers doing the work. Was such a disappointing show. Thankfully they toured with Alice Cooper who more than made up for it.

Give it a try, the middle seasons in particular are excellent.
I don't watch much TV. It is on my looooooong list of shows to watch so I may get around to it his decade but who knows.

Haha, yeah, apart from Neil the rest are getting good reviews.

Def Leppard's recent album was a decent listen, I think they still go alright live these days too.

It's the fact he can't deliver the full lyrics without running out of breathe that would probably stop me from seeing them live.

It's a shame as they were going to be my first ever concert when I was 16 but the drummer who replace Lee died.

I saw Motley probs 11 years ago and they were still good live then. Not sure whre they are in 2022 though

Concerts used to be good before smartphones
What you mean - when people used to actually dance, jump around and immerse themselves in the experience of the concert - as opposed to people recording the event to primarily post on social media to impress their virtual friends who were not there..?
