Congrats on the win Eagles. Easily one of the greatest grand finals I've seen, shame it didn't work out for my boys in the end

I remember telling me mates pre-finals that if the Pies didn't win the granny I'd want West Coast to win it and here we are haha. Really respect the Eagles as a team and an organisation. Your supporters on BF (don't even know a WC fan irl) are reasonable, likeable and respectable and I've no doubt you'll uphold this reputation for the next season.

The Collingwood/West Coast rivalry deserved this game and it's just another chapter in what is likely going to be a long history between our two clubs

Honestly it’s a bit of an enigma to hate Collingwood it was well easy in the 2000’s but your club is nothing but class lately with the charity work for the homeless ect and bucks and an actual likeable playing group only really Eddie remains as a universally despised figure. Just wanted to say congratulations to you guys for a great season and achieving the ultimate success. Was one of the best grand finals in recent memory, and I hope our boys can learn from it. Really loved seeing Ryan play this year, always going to support local talent.

Hopefully our club takes some pointers and makes the next derby (and our whole season) a bit more competitive

Huge congratulations to the Eagles. What a fantastic season. Similarly to us, you endured a horror run of injuries and suspensions which culminated in one of the greates GF’s ever. I’d hate to have my face shown to the world continually during the grand final. So many emotions I went through. He is composed AF in comparison.

I respect Eddy because he is so passionate but what puts a sour taste in my mouth is when he uses his privileged position to air those biases. Sometimes he is right but other times he is way off base.

He basically has his own radio show so he does have a large influence on the media especially if Collingwood are hot. A lot of the crap he says makes me cringe (the whole prelim final date debacle) but the passion he has for the game and his ability to rally the Collingwood faithful is the main reason he is President. If you'd like have a look at Eddie's message at the supporters day today, really made me think differently of him.

I'm just so proud of the boys.
Totally agree with the calls that this is our greatest premiership, we faced genuine adversity and just continued to defy the naysayers.

32 seasons, 22 finals, 7 GFs and 4 flags.
That's a juggernaut friends. I think so many of us (myself included) are guilty of taking our great club for granted, were so lucky.

You can just see how awesome the culture is and how the players havent been shying in sticking it up the media. Strong cultures are what build continued success.

That shits me big time. One of the things I loved seeing in 06 was the reaction in our box. I just felt sad for the Collingwood team - they put 100% in and missed out by less than a goal. That is heartbreaking. If we can't win next year I want them to.

Wow, two days on and i cannot still stop smiling, what a day, what a season we have had. My last couple of months have been ordinary health wise, but this last weekend has been nothing short of sensational.

We are truly lucky to be able to support a club that prides itself on being a success. I'll happily admit i did not see us in the 8 this year, i don't give a rats i was wrong.

To all my fellow posters on here, thanks for a great year, we have had our moments when we thought Saturday wasn't looking a possibility, and we have had moments when we have questioned the club and it's path, the odd meltdown or two has occurred, during and after games for various reasons, i have been guilty of that, i have no issues with how we react good, bad or indifferent. We all love this club with a passion and have one thing in common, we want to win. Luckilly for us we have a club that can deliver that on a regular basis.

Landed back in Perth late last night after spending the last 4 days soaking up the atmosphere and attending my first ever interstate final , let alone GF
Never in my wildest dreams did I think that we would get that result and in that way too - definitely dream come true
Have loved getting photos with /chatting to /hugging /hi fiving /generally celebrating with total strangers
So glad I was able to make it .

As for the game itself - thought the pies’ banner falling would be a definite omen . I gave up after the first 5 goals but after our settlers and the second quarter stalement , I dared to believe for the next 2 quarters and was a bundle of nervous energy , but started to give up again in the last quarter as we kept conceding the lead and missing our shots .
