What are your thoughts on Hartung?

If Heart-lung were available with WC's 2nd pick, WC should seriously consider him. I'd play him as a HBF/BP, who could rotate onto a wing. He'd likely initially vie for a position against Carter, Smith and Buttplug. He'd provide heaps of dash from defence. He has offensive flair, but accountability and defensive aspects of his game would probably have to be worked upon.

Could be a tough match up for the opposition given his speed. Could probably play in any flank or pocket role. His inclusion could be useful given his scope to rotate both forward and back and also into an outside midfield role.

Doubt he'll be available at WC's 2nd rounder though.

I assume you meant Kelly? Neither Billings or Kelly have shown they can play full time in the middle. We cant afford to pick a player who may never be able to play in the middle full time

Ideally I'd back our development staff to do just that and, once the review's done, I may be able to. Personally I'd be prepared to take the risk for the greater reward in this case but I'm sensing we have different drafting philosophies.

Pretty ho hum about this.

Not a great footballer, poor overhead mark, it's really only his athleticism and height which have people excited.

Maybe he will develop his game at an AFL club, but we need more smart footballers not high risk picks.

I think it just goes to show how highly we rate Yeo, and the plan we have for him is obviously strategically important to our 2014 make-up. Seems we want to convert him into a mid, maybe Mundy style, tall and able to dish off in a tackle.

Well they get their target and now they would prefer to take a player who they think is top 5 but others don't, who probably wouldn't slide to 9.

Either way I just read on afl.com.au that they are expected to take Kelly so it doesn't really change nada.
