Really unimpressed with Vozzo and the team.

I have no problem with the trade of pick 6 to Collingwood in order to acquire Yeo if Freo were likely to undercut our offer of 41. If Freo weren't in the picture then I think we should have been pushing for Pick 41 or PSD unless we had genuine concerns about another club taking him in the PSD before us.

However at the very least we should be holding pick 10 and pick 28 instead of 11 and 31. It's those two minor details that have annoyed me the most as any competent negotiator would have been able to achieve those two things with the strength of our bargaining position.

Horrendous.
While 10-11 and 28-31 are basically irellevent if we get the players we want, and the difference is so small, it doesn't give you a lot of faith that we could pull off bigger trades without giving up more than we should.

so ah.. dunno if i'm in the right thread for this...

but welcome to the club elliott yeo!!

i know everyone's a bit distracted/underwhelmed by the process it took to get him to the club but it does look like we have a very promising player on our hands here.

should be considered a big win to the many among us who have little confidence in the current back flank corp of waters/butler/smith/brennan/wilson etc. you'd imagine it might also spell the end for one or two of those blokes (possibly even during this trade period?)

forgetting the out of contract/wa player stuff, the fact we picked him up for a second rounder with a couple of years under his belt is probably as good as adding another first round pick.

fwiw, every brisbane fan is gutted to see him go and other fans around the league can barely believe the meltdown we've gone into.

every chance to start from round one and prove his worth often and early.

When PSD was an option, I think we folded like a cheap suit

As a wearer of cheap suits, I resent that remark :p

I don't think PSD was a realistic option. 5 clubs would have a pick before us including three clubs based in Melbourne where his brother lives. Would they all pass up on a guy who is apparently the equivalent of a top-25 pick and instead draft someone from the dregs left after the ND? Bit of a risk.

Good to see Stokes back, trying to calm the waters from the Rabid west coast supporters on twitter.

28 is under's for Yeo, he'll do well for you guys.

Has the skill and talent to eventually become an AA.

In saying that, I hope he breaks both his legs round 1. :)

If he's nominated us (and he has) realistically not going to happen. The issue is we're paying more than we receiver for Brad Ebert who was at or near 100 games and 21 years old.

Although I can't quite understand how we were forced into giving up pick 28, I'm still stoked to be getting Yeo. Acres/Sheed plus Yeo is a good offseason. 31 is a bonus if we use it well.

It is weird how this trade hasn't been officially announced yet..

It's not that weird. You can't announce something that hasn't happened.

Reckon you are going to look back at the Yeo trade in 2 years and laugh that you considered it a poor deal at the time.

You've done well. You'll see :(

We don't consider it a poor deal. We would happily draft Yeo with 28. However, for once, we want to bloody win from a trade of a player coming home!!

We seem to get screwed when players leave, but don't return the favour for players coming home.

The paperwork hasn't been lodged yet.

Shouldn't wish injury on anyone. Bit harsh IMO.
