People don't care about tweets or loan fraud . People care about their families. They proved that yesterday

Looks like even the democrat apparatus don't care about that either given they are winding off his criminal cases now they failed to influence the election enough.

I thought pushing the idea that your young daughter should be hoping to be able to get an abortion one day was an interesting tactic from the democrats.
Except for the fact that they didn't do anything of the sort.

You say government should be secular. Others don't agree with you. You can vote on that issue and see how it goes.

Who doesn't agree with me?

There's never been a vote on the topic, so how would you know?

What we do know is that ~ 40% of Australian's are not affiliated with any religion at all, I suspect a number of those who are would only be nominally so (for example, I went to a Catholic school so in the past have nominally put 'Catholic').

Religion has no place in Government in a modern democracy, it offers no value whatsoever.

'Thou shalt not kill' is great and all, but pretty comfortable we already know that these days, no Bible needed.

Sounds like you're relying on anecdotal evidence.

Some illegal immigrants do commit crimes. Most don't. They commit crimes at a lesser rate than both legal immigrants and American born citizens.

So there's simply not an illegal immigrant crime epidemic.
This is directly from the source you provided as evidence

The question of how often undocumented immigrants commit crimes is not easy to answer. Most previous research on crime commission by immigrant populations has been unable to differentiate undocumented immigrants from documented immigrants. As a result, most studies treat all immigrants as a uniform group, regardless of whether they are in the country legally.

The estimates in this study come from Texas criminal records that include the immigration status of everyone arrested in the state from 2012 to 2018. These data enabled researchers to separate arrests for crimes committed by undocumented immigrants from those committed by documented immigrants and native-born U.S. citizens. (For more detail on the study’s data sources and methodology, see the sidebar “What Makes the Texas Data Unique?”)

The researchers tracked these three groups’ arrest rates across seven years (2012-2018) and examined specific types of crime, including homicides and other violent crimes.[2] They used these arrest rates as proxies for the rates of crime commission for the three groups. It should be noted that arrest is a commonly used, but imperfect measure of crime that in part reflects law enforcement activity rather than actual offending rates.

It's not very convincing...

Some still think he isn’t a RWNJ despite all the evidence over the years
And a huge number of people still believe Trump is smart and a good guy or that Musk is a genius or that Biden is a communist.

Unfortunately we are living in a world where truth doesn’t seem to matter much anymore.

A portion of the world is covering themselves in a delusion while calling everyone else delusional for seeing events as they are instead of through some twisted lens

Mandatory doesn't mean mandatory for everyone, all the time. If you are a landlord, if you are a home owner, if you buy property, if you use certain government services it is mandatory to pay the tax associated with it.

And you're analogy falls down comepletely with the GST- If someone never uses or buys a GST-item, they never pay GST Yet GST is a tax nevertheless.

Come on now, you're grasping at straws. Mandatory is exactly that, mandatory for every citizen. That isn't land tax and/or council rates.

Everyone who participates in this economy will be paying GST. Impossible to avoid. Income tax is unavoidable for those that earn the minimum amount required.

Have you ever read a study before?

That's a very common thing to read, where they put down what they did, the limitations of past research, the limitations of their research.

What it does show is that there simply isn't a migrant crime epidemic. Most crimes are committed by American born citizens.

If you even take a moment to think about it, if you're an illegal immigrant trying to exist in the US are you; taking a low paid cash job and trying to keep your head down and not be noticed so you don't get deported, or, committing crimes where you're likely to be arrested and deported?

You don't pay GST on fresh produce, so if you really wanted to, you could probably avoid paying it if you were off the grid enough.

Let’s be honest nothing will really change for the large percentage of Americans. Trump might say he’s drained the swamp that’s been around for years but it’s just going to get filled back up with more people who want the same power & wealth. It won’t be any different.

In 4 years time Americans will still be dissatisfied with the government & will think the new one will be better. It’s the same thing that always happens.

Oh there will be a few things that will change.

  • Deportations en masse
  • Less health care (than the little they currently have!)
  • Less public education
  • Tariffs
Just as a starting point.

and Trump will appoint at least 2 more young SC Justices so will maintain a Trump majority court for decades.

I asked you multiple times what her best policies were and you gave me non answers. Dont lie
Think you may have me confused with someone else, we haven't discussed Harris' policies before.

Tax plan? Bigger tax benefits for families offset by raising of corporate taxes
Child tax credit? Bigger than the one Vance has been pitching
Housing scheme? Plan for 3 million affordable new homes and tax breaks for builders doing homes for first-time buyers
First home buyer assistance? Up to $25,000 in down-payment assistance for people who have paid their rent on time for 2 years
Healthcare? Announced last month agreements with drug manufacturers for lower prices for 10 common drugs, resulting in savings for patients of 38% to 79%

By all means, show me anything even approaching that from Trump's 'policy'.

So all you can add to the discussion is everyone who voted for Trump is racist and he's going to be assassinated lol. Speaks volumes about you and your character.
This is what America has become . If you can't see that and you are a trump fanboy, it says a hell of a lot about your character.

You don't pay GST on fresh produce, so if you really wanted to, you could probably avoid paying it if you were off the grid enough.

The company that sells you fresh produce does pay GST on transport costs, fuel etc. So even though one may not pay GST directly they still are paying it indirectly, It directly affects the price of produce you purchase.

The only way to not pay GST would be to live in the mountains off nothing but fresh water and the food you catch / grow yourself.

The posts overnight resemble a cut snake, flailing, aimless, venomous. More lies and misinformation spewed about why this is a terrible moment for the world or the American people, frightening racism and classism shown by some, a lack of economic understanding, a lack of political understanding. Overwhelmingly the evenings discussion is reminiscent of talking to an AI LLM trained on CNN sound bites.

The talk of cutting off friends and family are worse. You should know that you are the minority. For every handful of people who actively and vocally support Trump in your life, there are 100% more who do so silently. You think right leaning and centrist individuals are the minority - but they are merely silent. Not looking to offend you or your delicate introspective position. Know that you are the odd one out.

Again, it's okay. You are forgiven for your ignorance, your hatred, your disrespect to others. Take some time, let the result breathe. Embrace your friends and family as people and walk forward.

All nonsense mate.
Trump remains unpopular in Aus, even amongst LNP voters.
Silent polls have said that time and again.
Are you saying a majority of Australians supported Albo in 2022 and Trump in 2024?

Aussies don’t like dictators, we like peaceful transfer of power, we don’t like partisan courts stopping policies that are popular.

I assure you that there is a huge number of people around each of us who will be silent and not wish to offend those sprouting pro-Trump views and talking points.

There kind of has been a vote on it. It was Morrison's only substantial piece of legislation and he got annihilated in parliament with his own members crossing the floor and then annihilated again at the ballot box.

And you support Albanese I guess? A man that has been on the public teet for the majority of his adult life.

Not particularly an Albo fan, no. I think he's better than Dutton in a world where it's a binary choice though.

Fortunately we have preferencing in voting so you can vote for whoever you like first and put the rest in the order you dislike the least.

Like you just said, income tax is a tax and is not mandatory for everyone, all the time.

Land Tax. Goods and Services Tax. Capital gains Tax. Witholding Tax. Council rates. All similarly are not mandatory for everyone but are taxes nevertheless.

Just as many would have dribbled about her not saying the right thing. Nothing changes that population as a whole but $$$$
Unfortunately money talks; and bullshit walks.

In the scenario old mate put down, where you're living in the mountains and paying 60% of your income to the Government, I assume he's absolutely loading up on TVs and UberEats to maximise the GST he's paying.
