You said the following in your post:

... profering the claim that this article is deliberately misrepresenting the facts.

This is what you have to prove: not that they are wrong, but both that they are wrong and are deliberately lying about it.

Does that clarify things for you?

Thanks.

You have somehow misinterpreted my post to mean the opposite of what it actually means.

For the record, I am in complete agreement with The Age article I posted and I full agree that the italicized quote -I pulled from it- is in fact true.

Which is.. you know...why I posted it in the first place in reply as evidence to counter the false claim by user Aristotle Picket that it was the latino's that won it for Trump.

I even say that it was the whites in the swing States that won it for Trump in another post.

So......I'm not going to prove the article and the pulled quote is in fact false because its not. If you think the article is false then contact the author or editor.

I trust this satisfies your demands

Hugs and Kisses

Yours Sincerely

#2. The word income has a meaning. Flowers keeps missing that fundamental point.
#3. It doesn't matter where the hell you live, it relates directly to the level of taxable income.
#4. Indirect taxes (GST, land tax, etc.) are by definition not income taxes.

See #4.

See #4. One subset is income taxes.

Yes, and by referring to 60% in income tax (and repeating it), you have demonstrated your usual level of complete ignorance.

yeah, nah you pay those taxes with your income- Once you have paid your income tax, you left over income is used to pay the GST, the rates, CGT, anything you pay to the government is a tax.

Wowee.. it took you this long to come up with this rubbish? You are true to form, i'll give you that.

Take for example, a person living in New York earning an average wage of US$250,000 or so. Their State Tax is roughly 10% and their Federal Tax is 37% - that's a total maximum tax rate of 47%. It's roughly the same in California. You start earning close to $1m per year and you get into 50% pure income tax range.

And this is not excluding all other taxes you pay on top of income tax, which admittedly weren't the topic of my post.

So I was off by 10% on my off the cuff post, the point of the discussion was the indiscriminate nature of income tax and the inability for you to adjust your habits to avoid it. If you make that income, you pay that tax. You can't choose to limit your spending, you can't choose to be self sufficient. You couldn't live in the woods and avoid tax as a choice. The income tax hunts you wherever you go, if you earn an income.

Trumpies since the election.

"Trump is not stupid"

"Trump is not stupid"

"Trump is not stupid"

"Trump is not stupid"

"Trump is not stupid"

"Trump is not stupid"

Then, when his stupidity is proven beyond doubt
I only said that because I didn't want to hurt that posters feelings.

I know you don't care about others, but some of us have a shred of decency.

Elitism. Average American.

You’re venerating a billionaire. Ably supported by another billionaire, from apartheid money. With 3rd party support from another millionaire.

And when their healthcare and benefits go, their cult leader will point at the usual targets. And they will believe him. Because the average white American male has proven themselves more unintelligent, emotional and racist than other demographics.

This. They distracted the masses with their lies while they literally picked their pockets.
No way does Trump or Elon or Thiel or Vance have any ability for compassion for the masses. Your mess now America.
Capitalism as their real God was always the problem. The rich got so much richer over the past few years with no trickle down economics to help the poor.
And now Musk says he will slash trillions, bet it won’t be from his own money. They will crash America, I am sure of it, and attempt to rebuild it similar to Putin and Orban’s Oligarchy . TOC.

I'm in Europe, it's morning here.

And you're still wrong.

Most states don't have the high State Tax of California and New York (many have no State Tax). Unless your cabin in the woods is upstate New York, you're not paying State Tax even if your remote consulting job is lucrative.

Even the worse-case scenario doesn't get near 60% income tax.

FWIW, I think there should be increased income tax on high earners. If people earn $1 million a year or more, then they should be paying more income tax. Not getting tax cuts via their investments whilst people too poor to have investments don't get any tax relief.

LOL. You pay non-income taxes from your after (income) tax income. The distinction couldn't be any more clear.

I'm not denying we pay different taxes. The Flowers clown was suggesting 60% income tax. He was wrong and you're helping him double down on it.

Cool, again the level of income tax was not the point of my post. It was a discussion around the pros and cons to the individual on a tariff based government revenue system versus an income tax based revenue system (noting I am neither for nor against either position and consider Trump's discussions on tariffs replacing income taxes to be conceptual at best and highly unlikely to

Just so we're absolutely clear, I'll assume you mean Christian supernatural nonsense? Other kinds are to be respected?
To be a little clearer still, would you care to explain why it is you think (Americans believe) Jesus is going to make America great again?

Look... I don't think you even read what I wrote that led to this little sideshow. Your responses to me have very little to do with anything I wrote.
All supernatural superstitions are absurd and should be ignored in public discourse.
The christ cult isn’t special.
America is about to find out what the parties of the death cult have in store for them.
Have you not been paying attention for the past 6 months, have you read any of the Heritage Foundations manifesto “project 2025”?
Have you been paying special attention to the Christian Nationalists in America and what they think of women’s rights and wanting to repeal the 17th Amendment in regards to a woman’s right to cast her ballot!
I read your post and gave it all the power it deserved by mocking it, as is my privilege.
Australia nor America are Christian nations, you are free to be one in our countries and are free to not have to listen to their rubbish beliefs if you should choose to.
Keep your ridiculous toys at home or in your stupid worship houses.

Maybe paying income tax of 40-50% is a crazy scenario for you, but not for everyone.

You said income tax, then repeated that you meant income tax.

As usual, you simply don't realise your ignorance until it's spelled out and even then, you keep arguing your ignorant point until you finally realise it's wrong, then move the goal posts.

Rinse and repeat. Ignorance is a large part of the reason someone like Trump can be a candidate, let alone elected.

Ah, my apologies, then. I absolutely misunderstood your post.

As you were.
