Here are all the Best and Fairest winners:

A - Rice and Ramsden on 16 votes (as shown above);
B - Biggs (Old Essendon) - 22 votes;
C - Smyth (Monash Blues) - 30 votes;
D1 - Keleher and Miller (both of Ormond) - 19 votes;
D2 - Payze (Peninsula) - 21 votes;
D3 - Hodgson (Old Westbourne) - 22 votes;
D4 - Lauletta (Hawthorn) - 21 votes.

Two other awards:

Umpire of The Year - Leah Gallagher.

For me, I think this is a great achievement for one of the most loved umpires on the VAFA Umpiring Panel. Has really done well in the last couple of years.

Most Promising Umpire - Robert O' Gorman.

His achievement in doing the International Rules Grand Final at the MCG a few weeks back was one of the reasons why he was rewarded with this I think.

The Woodrow is supposed to be for the Best and Fairest player in A section??? I admit Ramsden has a fair influence on the game when he is switched on and playing the footy. My question is how come umpires not only let Rambo get away with belting little blokes throughout the season but also reward him with votes? I have seen a number of incidents that he definitely should have been reported for this year and I only saw him play two games.

Well done to Dave Biggs winning his 2nd consective B Grade BF. Massive effort

Must be something in the water out at Keilor Hill with OEG taking out 4 of the last 5 league B & F's. Who could forget the back to back that former Bomber, now Trinity player Scott Macflaherty, sorry Scott MacPherson won in 2001-02.

I believe one of SMAC's was a C Grade award, but yes a great effort from the Keilor Hill boys

John Snake,

It's a bit hard to win a B grade B & F when you are in C grade, hence the reason I said league B & F and did not specify a grade.

Didn't SMAC also take out a couple Best Clubman awards in his time at Centreway East?

Michael Miller has to be congratulated on 3 consecutive section B&F awards. He won the C Grade B&F in 2003 when we (Ormond) got relegated, won D1 last year & again this year, tying with his skipper "Digs" Keleher. Fair effort!

SHould be a cracker GF this w'end against the Reds, hopefully we can turn the tide & win one against the Reds in the one that matters! We will regain a few players that were missing injured from the 2nd Semi so who knows, it'll be tough but i think we can do it!

GO 'MONDS!!!!

Anyone got any info on the u/19 sectoin 1 grand final this weekend between Collegians and Marcelin. Who will win and why?

Benrick

I think the boys from the Trott are looking good and bounced back after the 2nd semi belting at the hands of Marcellin.
Problem is that Marcellin had 5 blokes drop back from the Seniors which augers well for the club.

Anyone with thoughts on who'll win prelim xavs v oh? OH stars' are reportedly returning this week, but it's hard to tip against Xavs isn't it?

Saw both sides up close this year and I think Marcellin moves the ball too quick by hand for Collegians and will win by at least 5 goals.

With the season barely over, rumours are starting to abound about off season moves between VAFA clubs.

In my travels in the city today, Old Trinity's "Big Cat" was spotted being wined and dined with several Collegians senior players.

Word on the streets of Melbourne said it was as good as a done deal that the Big Cat would be wearing the purple and gold next year.

Thoughts...

Wined, Dined and 69d?

Marcellin had 9 Under-19's play seniors this year (including a certain Woodrow Medallist) and of these 5 will play this week in the Under-19 GF......
I guess seeing that they rolled Collegians in the 2nd semi by 13 goals they will go in favourite, unless Collegians have some dropping back from the 1's????

The Eagles have a heap of on-ballers in the side, and will move the ball very quickly

Yeah - that sounds spot on from my mail here.

Big Cat has been dying to play B section footy since he left the Bullants to return to his old schoolboys club, and the fact that he's one of 2 players appointed to the OTFC coaching selection panel next month is simply an elaborate ruse.

The strongest rumour yet though is the guaranteed departure of Woodrow Medallist Andrew Ramsden to rival Bulleen club Bulleen Cobras. The D4 preliminary finalists were found wanting in the big man department against St Mary's, and the entire club, committee, playing list and parents were seen at Sofia's in Camberwell last night wining and dining the big fella with the promise of more game time if he played at full back in their seniors.

Ramsden failed to immediately return phone calls to his office this morning.....

Stay tuned.....

Seems as though the wheels are falling off out at the Bulleen Playing Fields

Big news if true. Might be a little bit of cash involved, from what I hear there are already a couple of Cobras who break the rules, so to speak.

Was meant to be at headquarters tomorrow morning, but, have been struck down with the flu.

Thats not good Pazza, how are you? Did you umpire today?

I had the U/19 Div 1 Grand Final with Marcellin getting over the line comfortably by 10 goals

Just wondering did any game at all go off for Lightning? We came mighty close with 2 huge strikes over the ground, a 3rd and we were off apparently

Nah had to just sit at home...the coughing is dead-set nasty.

Should be right for next week.

I played in the grand final before that one in the Under 19 blue section and man theres a massive size different between the top and the 'bottom' section, i dont know if the skills are that much different but definatly the size of the guys running around-the gap is huge, id get killed playing a section 19s :p

Eddiesmith, I played for Collegians in that grand final and was just wondering what would have happened had the game been called off due to lightning. Would it be replayed the next week or would the result stand as it was?

By the way, I thought both umpries were very good (it's a pity we don't get that kind of officiating during the year). Except for one decision when after a goal the umpire balled it up in the middle without waiting for the players to be ready. Although it made no difference to the result as we were beaten by a much better side.
