only problem for me with those two clubs is the distance because i live in kilmore, once i get my Ps it shoodnt really matter. i was training with coburg tigers but i dont have the desire to play VFL at this stage. the De La coach rang me last week. wat is the speed of amatuers like Scribe? im an outside midfileder and foward wif a fair bit of leg speed.

The speed of A Grade would probably be close to, or the quickest outside VFL, but the style of play is more open than the top suburban leagues - so you don't get cruched as much. Good for younger, leaner types as they won't get belted from pillar to post. Classic case would be Joel Rice (Marcellin) who won the A Grade B&F as a running midfielder without often getting hammered due to his good leg speed.

As for A Grade clubs to play with - one of the most northern located, with the largest (and arguably best conditioned) ground in the competition, and a rich history of adopting ex-Assumption boys into the fold would be......

Old Trinity.

Surprise surprise. :D

well seeing that Rice has gone to the WAFL, maybe you can fill his spot at Marcellin..........

A grade ammo's is alot better standard than school footy, you'l find you will play most of your first year in the 19's, unless your a freakshow of course.

On the Nick Holland rumour, I heard there was no way he was going to Scotch and that if he were to play in the VAFA it would be for Uni Blues, as he is good mates with John Kanis.

Scotch seem to be the quitest movers this summer, maybe the Nick Holland thing is only hope as a replacement for Gerstman?
Get it right. Holland is not playing footy at all this year and Gertsman is staying at Scotch!

Pity he dosen't have school aged kids, then Xav's could have swooped.;)

Mark Graham's kids are aged about 2 and 3. Hardly old enough to attend school.

Get a life and jump back into the hole you came from tosser!

So just because they are 2 and 3 does that mean they will never go to school?

Right I'm the tosser???

Your the one with the crap "Diva" username. Gee let's call myself after a friggen horse. Secondly you are obviously scum as 1. You barrack for Collingwood and 2. Your defending Xavs.

Go back to your third world suburb little man.

Seriously think you might need to reasses who is the tosser, tool!

Yes Gertsman will remain at Scotch. Sammyg just out of curiousity what Ammo club are you affiliated with?

Great first Round of A Section next year

Uni Blues v Old Xavs
Old Melbunians v Old Scotch
Marcellin v St Learneds
De La v Old Ivanhoe
Trinity v Old Haileybury

Don't really want to give myself away. Spent quite a few years in the mid 90's coaching Scotch. Got them into two gf's. Then went a coached Ajax for a little while before heading to the EDFL where I coached until recently.

Sammy

If this quite extraordinary revelation is correct, prove it.

Referring to my "worst day in footy" post, what was your reaction to the Scotch win after the game? This will expose any imposter!

If it is you, could you also explin the implied angst between yourself and Ken Sheldon in the SEN "Home Finance" ads? What is the context of you saying things like " will you shut up?" and the like? You two are in an ad together but your pairing seems to be the cause of some friction. I just don't get it....

Scribe 2,
please give us your early, learned winners with points margins for round 1.
(Blues by 76?).

Brian

Welcome back

I am never going to tip against Xavs again. I am going tip them by 1 point in every game. Having said that, April is not a month high on their agenda. So yes, Xavs by a point.

Massive game for Uni Blacks in their first real test for decades. St Kevins at the house of horrors. What a great day it will be when two Melb Uni teams play A Section.

You forgot about your stint at Therry, and Templestowe are in the EFL, not the EDFL.

When the Berlin Wall fell, the Russian media asked an old Soviet general how he felt about the impending German reunification.

His response: "Two Germanys is good, three Germanys even better!"

You are an interesting character you seem to have a problem where people come from sammyg. Old Scotch didn't mind me running around this season after coming from a certain western suburbs based VFL club. Get over it! I hate to say it but I ran around with some of the softest blokes I have ever played with on a footy field at Scotch. Must of been a result of your coaching regime

You are a very angry and jealous man sammyg. Then again I would be angry and jealous if I spent my entire footy career losing to OX. You sound like a Scotch lad so I'm sure you are very disheartened and mentally scarred by your numerous finals defeats. The 1st semi at Boxhill this year topped it all.

Quite funny that your only insipid comeback is to bag my name and the afl team i follow. Do you really care? If so, why?

Anyway, OX people put up with morons like you every saturday, so you are nothing new...just a sideshow for another premiership in '06. Now go away.

Diva I had no problems playing with them this year a really nice group of blokes and officials. They had no problems about where I was 'recruited' from. My greatest fear was characters like sammyg who judge people on where they live or how much money they earn. There were no sammyg's down there from my experience although I must be mentally tough as I was from a (to quote sammyg) third class suburb. Although Diva I must admit I have bumped into sammyg characters who played for Xavs but on the other side of the coin some absolute top blokes played there and have tried to get me down there. The sammyg's of the world (whether it be the third world or first class) give others a bad name although we shouldn't tarnish everyone with the same brush

Booza, Diva, I am not paying you to spend time on internet forums discussing the chips on your shoulders, now get back and finish washing my Rolls!

Would be very interested to hear Brian Speaking's thoughts on his new neighbour at HQ - Jeremy Bourke. Who gets the bigger office? Who's car space is closer to the front door? Who get's to nip down to the sandwich shop to grab Mike a curried egg on rye for morning tea? I would expect that there is no shortage of half backs out there breathing a sigh of relief that Jeremy will no longer be gracing the field.

Turns, it's like this...
First in, worst dressed, I'm keeping my office next to the toilets here at HQ. It's not the most desirable of positions but hey, when you have to go you have to go.
As far as sandwhiches go, what are they? We here at HQ will only indulge in a Super Sized Big Mac meal deal with a chocolate Sunday, as you may have gathered from my rather rotund, all be it extremely sexy figure.
Jezza was overrated as a player, he is the first to admit it. The only reason he applied for and was given the job was that Sholl's now has another ammo person he can debate with about who is the highest paid player at either club.
Personally, I would say Caydn Beetham(he did quit St Kilda for a more lucerative offer from OX) at Xavs and Brett Trollope at Hailebury, with apologies to Mark Graham and Brett O'Farrell.

Thanks for clearing that up BS - must admit that given the difficulties presented by the light cycle at Nepean highway and the circuitous route needed to get back to HQ from the drive-thru that Maccas would have been off the agenda - did not imagine either you or Jeremy actually walking anywhere. Still, not a bad way to get the k's up in the commodore and justify the VAFA lease.
