Are Ormond not in a similar position ? have played the top 2 ,2 times. , Preston once and haven’t played UHS at all .

That was my point. Swings and round abouts. There is no right answer, and in this uncertain time, there will be no answer.

My main take away is that clubs have to be prepared some diaapointment, and at no times should players, coaches or VAFA be held accountable.

Other leagues are bringing out scenarios for the week we are allowed back to footy. It would be great if VAFA would come out with something like this. Not holding my breath though!

This makes a lot of sense quite frankly.

The VAFA should absolutely follow suit here!

Well done Northern Footy League

Was looking forward to a beer this week old mate

That's why l believe no promotion/relegation. Then everyone in the same boat, we just go around again next year with hopefully better circumstances.
August 14 not happening, August 21 unlikely August 28 possible. That means 12 games out of 18 played. 1/3 of games missing
Trying to work out scenarios to finish off this year just not feasible. More important to just play games if possible for players well being. Clubs like Parkdale (if they still desire to go to C) can apply for it. Top Club from C invited to join B otherwise stay as is. Similar scenarios in each section. Cannot be using circumstances like" we didn't get to play the bottom side twice so unfair". Every Club has these scenarios so to work out each one and come up with a fair answer will be impossible.

Hopefully we do get to play finals but is it fair that top Clubs can play finals to get Promotion but bottom sides can't play to avoid relegation?? No it's not.

Disrupted season equals unfortunate circumstances and every Club has a different circumstance. Much more important is that Clubs survive and we are all playing again in 2022 in a much better World.

Just my opinion.
Spot on. Best way to do it

11 games played. Only 2 teams played twice. A couple will have belted up on cellar dwellers, but there should be no more regular season games played.

The best case scenario in my view will be 2 weeks for finals to be played in early-mid September.

No promotion / relegation
Everyone from 5th downwards is done and dusted.
1 -v- 4, 2 -v- 3 - winners play off in GF.

I honestly don't think they can get rid of promotion and relegation. Even if it is only 1 up/1 down. The only bottom side to have won more than 1 game is Box Hill North in D4. If this year it's premier goes up last goes down that's appropriate given each of the bottom teams struggles to win games of football

I think the most sensible thing is to award the current top positioned team in each division the premiership now.
No relegation or promotion and we all come back in 2022.
It seems the obvious thing.
Hipp.
Purely a coincidence that OXAFL is top of the pops in Prem 'A'?

Let 'em fight it out finals style.

See Patrick Ambrose has ended his AFL career. Are any $100k jobs available among the OX faithful, Hipp?

He would qualify for 1 point as a former player at the club wouldn't he? And possibly be Essendon's VFL captain at the same time!

Just a comment, but I think that with everything up in the air the HQ need to continue to evaluate the options - across ALL grades - and try and come up with a consistent plan (if that is even possible) over the next week. Whilst I may not always agree with the HQ on many elements, especially one or two that set my club (Ivanhoe) back several years, I think we need to consider that this very complex issue might be a touch harder to get done correctly than some may think. Just look at ALL the different options and opinions across the various competitions in these forums on what is fair, reasonable, doable, etc and you can see the vast amount of diversity in many that have been put forward. No doubt whatever happens some will feel aggrieved/some will feel fortunate, but I think as it looks like we could be heading towards opening up again by next weekend (fingers crossed), then how we shape finals and promo/relegation should take the opportunity to get another 5-7 days of thinking and planning attributed to it?

Anyway, in short - I don't see the need to rush a way forward today or tomorrow when we can work towards some more informed outcomes by mid-next week.

Chump.

Interesting statement from VAFA. Kew receive no sanction. Ian Psycho Aitken referred directly to AFL Victoria.
can only assume they’ll strip him of his accreditation.

Had heard the same, ole Aitken will be de-registered, sit out for 12-24 months, then need to re-apply for reinstatement. He will be eventually reinstated but any suspension of any kind, he wont get another chance. Time to give it away Aitken.

Crikey…just noticed that. Had assumed SKOBAFL were top due to the current odds market. Ok maybe that is…(nt) fair then.

Im hearing that the Matchday Maestro was finishing up at Kew at years end. So would probably have preferred to deal with the VAFA and walked away from his VAFA gigs, so long as he kept his other gigs. Lot of junior action, private action, action action that he will continue with (I’m told)
So will be interesting to see what is left for the Professor after this is all decided. But as we all agree..only has himself to blame. Glad Kew didn’t ‘bear’ the wrath..as Beaser was a solo man.
You gotta take the lead and make the others follow…
