Any idea about the make up of the thirds divisions? Appears like a few more sides have succumbed to financial pressure and player shortages and moved to clubbies only (e.g. Masala).

Hoping for equity's sake, they stick to keeping the Prem A-C clubs in the higher thirds divisions and then the divisional clubs predominately play against each other.

Shem has been officially charged for his coward punch last year.
Elsternwick have been hauled over the coals by HQ for the two incidents. Fined and apparently threatened with expulsion.
Message from HQ is that clubs are responsible for crowd behaviour - full stop. Don't be surprised to see a message from the CEO about this issue.
Question - has anyone ever had incidents like this at their games?

What happened exactly? Who is “Shem” an official or supporter?

It's not the Wicks fault if blokes from St.City want to cause trouble . Fair enough through the book at a player

I think every club have the responsibility to create a safe environment for spectators and players - home and opposition.
Happens once, you can make the argument that it was out of their control. But, twice???
Players crossed mid-year from City. Elsternwick had to know what they were potentially bringing into their club.
What would the mums and dads of the young Hawthorn players be thinking when they go out to Elsternwick Park next year??
Its an issue I never imagined would be the case in the VAFA - post Fawkner and Parkside (circa early 90s)!!!

Was it not at a fenced paying venue , surely they should've been told not to turn up .

I couldn't agree more about the safe environment. I hope Hawthorn throws the book at their player who racially abused an Elsternwick player, their player who threatened supporters about getting their "Barwon Mates" onto them, and the spectator who homophobically abused an Elsternwick supporter and threw empty beer cans at them during the Grand Final from the peanut gallery up on the balcony.
What would the mums and dads of the young Hawthorn and Elsternwick players be thinking watching that happen?

It's also stupid to say that Elsternwick should have known what they were bringing in. They were friends with current players who have had zero issues ever at the footy club and are positive members of the club's community. Does Hawthorn check all their player's friends and family before accepting their registration? I would hope so considering the threat of "Barwon mates" made to multiple players and spectators.

Hawthorn went to the media straight after the Dairy Bell incident trying to play the innocent card only for their hero to be hit with a suspension, their club to be reported for racism, and to roll over in a grand final while Shem didn't get charged.

And to say it happened twice is ridiculous. Your spectator, 16 cans deep threatened a spectator who was heading home and not connected to the Shem incident in the parking lot behind the stand post-game.

The most impressive part for me was the Elsternwick player who plead guilty to drug possession and trafficking the week of the GF, found time to tell porky pies to the tribunal, and then played on Saturday. Monster effort. I'm not saying Elsternwick knew what they were bringing in though...

Calm down mate.
Your??? I have nothing to do with the club.
You seem very passionate about this so maybe take your grievances up with the police and VAFA HQ.

Hawthorn went to the media......hahahahahahaha.
You have a cop that plays in the seniors, he seemed to know the background of a couple of your recruits quite well as he was telling his opponent was a grub that recruit was.
Phew!! The second incident wasn't related to the first incident - just two isolated incidents. The spectator felt threatened, king hit someone and ran - must have been in a rush to get home and not wait for the police.

Looks like a long overdue refurb of the Albert Park Sport Precinct is going to occur, the state government allocating 5 million for the works.

In what way . At present it is run by imbeciles in Parks Vic . The joint will be no good while that stupid car race is on .
Clubs also pay more rent to them than any club does to a council
