One of the funniest and best posters going around. Will be sorely missed, I hope his family is doing okay.

Spot on, something that you don't tend to really appreciate I guess until it's too late. Far out this place will miss him.

I am so stunned about this. I loved his charm and that he just liked to have fun. I hope his family knows just what great human he was and that he made a lot of people smile and laugh.

RIP Grand Uncle Horace. A flight of angels escorts you to the Pearly Gates. I will see you down the road, brother.

Horrie man. An absolute original, 2000 years in the making. A wit sharp as heck and an intellect to match. A fellow EKA runner up, and one of the good guys. We butted heads many times but he's one person on here that I really respected. Ripped into us whenever he could but did it in a way that made me nod my head and say "yeah you got us" more often than not. Hope his Bloods get up this season if Freo don't.

Vale Gramps.

Such tragic news :( Will miss his constant tags (reckon I got more tags from him in his first than I ever have here), his humour, his long winded rambly post. In all my seasons here, he was one of the best characters I've seen. Will be an incredible loss, not just here but on bigfooty in general.

Was also a pretty damn good werewolf player.

Horrie was a crack up with his dry wit and ability to turn a phrase,
was a top shelf poster and will be sadly missed

I loved when he played fact or crap and bottomed out, he had no problems laughing at himself, a true gentleman and straight up guy

It always shocks me how the passing of someone you have never met, let alone seen there face, can hit you like a tonne of bricks. But it does.

I didn't know Horrie long, but he seemed like a real character and someone I would happily share a beer with.

Vale Grand Uncle Horace old chap. You will be missed.

Sad to hear about Grand Uncle Horace's passing.

He always seemed like one of those immortal figures of the SFA. For someone with less than 150 games, he's leaving behind one hell of a legacy through his posting. Even within the last couple of pages, the fact that both teammate friends and old verbal sparring partners are paying tribute to him is proof positive of his impact.

Now I can't claim to know what GUH's views on faith and the great beyond were, and I'm not believer myself...but I'd like to imagine that somewhere out there, Horrie's giving St. Peter or some other guardian at the gates a good earful on what they've been getting wrong, just as he would on this board.

Gonna miss that old curmudgeon. Give 'em the Caesar's Claw one more time for me, Horrie.

Honestly I'm pretty lost for words. To lose two significant contributors that helped guide me, in such a short time frame is hard to take. Horry welcomed me to the Wonders with open arms and entrusted me with private details he didn't have to share. More recently he approached me in private seeking some guidance navigating some issues he was having with another poster. He respected me enough to share these things with me and not only is the respect mutual, I'm sure he'd have been more than happy to offer his help in return if it was ever needed. Rest easy old friend, you will be missed.

Heartbreaking news

I was just going through some of our old messages about health, life and everything in between, to reminisce

Vale , you have left a true legacy

I loved it when he coined the "meat shield" term. Great stuff.

Wow. Very sad news. :pensive:

Like many have said today Horry was a personal favourite of mine and he loved nothing more than getting into me & us at the Warriors and we certainly gave him plenty of fodder over the years.

One of the real unique characters in this place, he gave it to me endlessly and with great mirth. But was also the first one to reach out via PM with concerns and to break that fourth wall and he will be sorely missed. The Sweet FA's most verbose man, his love of Robbo was only perhaps matched by his love for the Wonders and his beloved Swannies.

Vale Horry, you had a serious impact in this crazy little escape on countless of us and you leave deep footprints mate, my heartfelt condolences to your friends and loved ones. 🙏

Was one of the first people to PM me to join the sfa. Genuinely nice person but also a seriously good/entertaining poster, one of the absolute best around here.

He always referred to me as the "ice-box" and our werewolf games especially during the covid years where I was evil every time were always great fun.

RIP to a real one.

Cya fella.
Always enjoyed our chats both public and private. May you now be somewhere with a durry and a drink, while taking in some cricket or Aussie rules.

Oh man, this sucks.

Truly one of the best posters this place has seen, watching Horrie in full flight was something to behold (even if some posts took me days to decipher). Made my time at the Wonders a pleasure and was always available to bounce ideas off of.

Shattered we won’t cross paths again, but very grateful we were able to in the first place.
