Not a lot of open space to get uncontested possessions and he’s not winning a heap at the contest.

Let’s remember Jacob E is a young man trying his best to play a difficult game. Our club selected him rather than him selecting us. He might not make it at AFL. I didn’t, perhaps you didn’t either? He always comes across as a nice and humble youngster so I don’t understand why posters appear to be cheering him on to fail. Don’t understand that at all. Perhaps we can be our best selves?

RiC not sure anyone cheers for our footballers to fail. I think years of "ordinary' has taken its toll.
And footballers like Edwards cop a bit. Not his fault as you pointed out. I've never had a go at Edwards, my wrath is normally reserved for high priced recruits, 1st and 2nd rounders.
Which is the sweet spot of mediocrity that we have managed to reside in for way to long.
Great to see our VFL team playing well enough to make finals. A good sign that we are on the improve. On Edwards I hope we retain him as I see no harm in keeping him on the list. He's only 20 plus change.
Not sure we'll see the best of what he can offer for at least another 3 years.

In general terms I think we've become accustomed to losing and the angst towards our players has subsided. Not sure that's a good thing, as we don't want to become another St Kilda. We have always expected our boys to be competitive and at times fans frustrations boil over.

This of course isn't helped by some media types questioning our viability. I think that fires posters up and causes the occasional shit fit directed at a player

Certainly not going hard at it, he might get hurt in the wet conditions. Dissapointing effort from him. Won't be getting a call up to AFL next week
