I do hope Herbert stays even though he's not in the GFL now.
I really hope paddy de grandi makes the cut there's something there and I hope ballantyne plays a bigger role this year.

Herbert is staying. He changed teams cause he played too many games in VFL and couldn’t return to play finals in the GFL.
His new team it doesn’t matter how many VFL games he plays, as it’s a different league with different rules.
So that’s why he changed.

did we keep Caprion as well?

And what about the kid that did his ACL a few weeks into the season. Small blonde haired defender. Number in the 60's...

Was hard at it and skillled.

Cant remember his name.

Ah that makes sense. Heidelberg is an odd location choice though as it's a lot of travel (there were closer leagues). Does he have a personal connection at that club?

Capiron is getting close to 30 so he hasn't got many years left but is staying for 2025 as far as I know.

I think he'll be 29 next year

Only reason for that thinking is there was chat on one of the supporter FB pages about drafting him because "he deserves a chance", but I was a little cautious of it due to his age & that he wouldn't be filing a specific need compared to what we already had available to play a similar role

Similar thinking with Brew - even just 2 or 3 years younger & thinking they get drafted, or if they were a KP option like Podsiadly you could see teams being interested - but they're just that bit of an awkward option

Facebook sounds like a crazy place. Haven't been there in years

We know that our senior team are back for the start of their pre-season, and it's also the time that that news regarding our VFL team starts filtering through

Thanks to Kingy & Krock, we kick off with the following

That's an interesting little nugget at the end about Hamish Lucas nearly earning a spot with GWS. I've always liked him at VFL level, hopefully he takes another step up this year.

Geelong is in the running to sign former Cats forward Nathan Kreuger, who was delisted by Collingwood at the end of last season.

Kreuger played two games for the Cats in 2021 and 13 across three seasons with the Maggies

From Code Sports

Yuck

Turning him into a KPD?

I wouldn't be surprised. I doubt the club or his former team mates see it the way fans do

We savagely delist players all the time so no ill feelings towards a fringe player like Kreuger moving on for me. If he is a better top up option than other VFL player X then do it.

I don't mind Nathan IF he stays fit (which is a big if) as we are short on key position backs in the vfl side and he has talent in that regard.

We took guys like Lang thurlow and gore back and he has more talent but is admittedly made of glass.

Problem is Nathan doesn’t want to play backline
I would take Kreuger if he wants in.

Watching him in his early days at training, he was confident, strong, a good kick and demanded the ball. I was confident he would do well.

Our tall forward stocks (if you don't count ruckman) are pretty thin.

A year on our VFL list could be a good watch and see.

Sometimes a humbled man comes back and becomes a thankful one..

If he’s wanting it and can stay healthy and plays where we need him too.. good..

I liked him early days at the Cattery.
