The season is hotting up with only one win separating 5th and 10th place on the VFL ladder. A win this week is crucial for Geelong to claw their way back into the 8. A loss for Werribee could potentially have them slide out of the 8. Last time these teams met was back in Round 2, Geelong defeated Werribee 140 to 87. Lonners kicked 5, Prismall and S.Simpson kicked 3 goals each.

Geelong have two valuable inclusions this week including Prismall and Taylor. The cats backline has been working fantastically and the inclusion of Harry Taylor will make it even stronger. Last week Geelong struggled in the midfield without Byrnes and Wojak, thankfully Prismall can provide some classy kicking to the forwards. Adam Donohue played very well last week and seeing him sidelined is disappointing.

The boys are really going to have to stand up this week if they are any chance of playing finals footy.
GO CATS! See you in Werribee... ALL OF YOU! :p

gday everyone.

Bedford has a grade 1 hamstring strain and wont be back for a couple of weeks. I'm not sure whats going on with Donohue and yes he played a great game last week.

PS: Welcome to BF S&B.

Hawkins has been kicking quite well the last few games, i'd love to see him totally dominate a game and kick 8+, i might head up tomorrow for the game, should be a close one with Taylor and Pris both great inclusions.

Also hoping Djerrkurra can have another good game.

i think the vfl have a real good mix this week.

harry taylor makes the whole backline look real good. taylor, kangars, mckenna, dave johnson. looks good.

prismalls inclusion is massive, him, tenace, djerkerra, hogan with mumford and west rucking, great middle and will be better next week with the return of shannon byrnes.

and up forward is probly the best with hawkins, gamble, simpson and davenport.

licking my lips about this vfl side it should do things for the rest of the year if it can keep injury free and it should account for werribee easily tomorrow.

How the hell did that happen?

Ben Ross, Levi Greenwood, Todd Goldstein and Scott McMahon i would presume.

All excellent young footballers, and will be an integral part of North's future, with, probably three of them to play against Port Adelaide next weekend.

Other North players included:

Jess Sinclair
Scott Thompson
Obst
Ben Warren
Ben Davies
Leigh Brown

Then Podsiadly is one of the best non-afl listed players in the VFL, Ben Sharpe (ex-West Coast)

It wasnt a Micky Mouse team.

Gidday all.

Just got back from the game, sadly it wasn't a great effort. Saw a few posts asking about Hawkins, who was pretty average today. Got a few grabs but either pushed the kick or just layed off too many times. He didn't score a goal I think, so that's a fair indication of how poorly we played.

West was pretty good, threw his size about a fair bit, even when the pill hit the ground he was after it like a fat kid on a smartie. Was quite good in the air also, though kicking for goal was very ordinary.

A few players were very disappointing. Prismall was ok, but just didn't take the game over, which I thought he would.

Kangars was ok, but the kid I liked the look of was Hogan. Played good in the first half, struggled a bit thereafter.

Moles was ok too, but really made some stupid decisions. Thurman put in all day, so did Johnson. Our backline was mainly held up by those two, with quite good backup from Taylor. Djerkurra was quite good.

Davenport was thereabouts, did some good things, but often tried too much and looked ordinary once caught. Simpson is a massive unit, but no matter how big his heart is, he needs more pace.

Our disposal all afternoon was woeful to be lenient. I was quite annoyed by the poor disposal from supposed AFL listed players. In the third quarter, Moles made a fantastic run from the backline to then choose to not kick it to the leading Hawkins. He pumped it over his head to an unmarked Werribee player 2 metres out. Hawkins in the last was livid at a few players as their kicks either went over his head or sprayed way off target.

It was a very cold and annoying afternoon.
