I don’t disagree.I understand that fully.
Imagine signing a contract that long, that far out from the old one expiring.

This.I think the perfect example of bias within the AFL towards the Victorian clubs happened in 2006 or 2007, as from 2001 to 2006 (6 years in total) it had been won only by non-Victorian teams and the AFL introduced a committee to look into why a Victorian team had not won the premiership in 5 or 6 years.
From 2007 onwards there have been 13 Grand Finals, and non-Victorian teams have won 2 of them, and yet the AFL is not looking into the issue, it isn't even on the radar as an issue. If Victorian teams not winning the premiership for 5 or 6 years is an issue, why isn't non-Victorians only winning the flag twice in 13 years an issue?
Adelaide played their first season in 1991Explain how Russell Ebert's kids are not eligible.
I have been told it is between 3 and 4 times more players available to Vic sides (will be improving), happy to be proven wrong but I doubt I will.
Port has got lucky, with a few of their initial players having Son's but the number of players eligible from SANFL or WAFL was * all.
Not everyone wanted to play AFL. The crows had not started then.
*all decisions are made based on $$All decisions are made based on $$$ and if that means that the structure of the competition skews things to Vic clubs on field then that’s what will happen, regardless of what any of us think.
*all decisions are made based on $$
*Except in the most catastrophic two year period the afl have ever faced.
We have a football obsessed state that has no covid. After a two week quarantine, players could have been free to train, go to the beach, go to the pub, live with their families and play footy in front of crowds - paying crowds like the 25k geelong and collingwood played in front of.
All the teams could have had paying customers.
Instead they went to brisbane and lived locked down in hubs - playing in front of noone.
For that year all of a sudden money didnt matter. Money was of no consequence. Players were locked up in hubs for months at a time.
For one brief moment in time money was unimportant.
2022 we go back to money being the most important excuse in the universe to use as a reason why decisions are made that just coincidentally mean that Victoria is the centre of the afl universe.
Maybe, maybe not.If Peter Daicos played his career in the WAFL then Freo or Eagles would have his sons.
But he didn't, he played his career at Collingwood so they have them.
Perth doesn't have the stadiums to play 9 matches a week, and since WA weren't going to allow players to fly into other Covid 0 havens like Adelaide or Brisbane, it never would have worked to base teams there.*all decisions are made based on $$

Ffs you think there's no football stadiums in wa.Perth doesn't have the stadiums to play 9 matches a week, and since WA weren't going to allow players to fly into other Covid 0 havens like Adelaide or Brisbane, it never would have worked to base teams there.
There's also no way Mcgowan would have allowed the players families to come over. He made it very clear that helping the AFL was at the very bottom of his priorities. Brisbane/QLD were the better deal by far.
He did no such thing.Perth doesn't have the stadiums to play 9 matches a week, and since WA weren't going to allow players to fly into other Covid 0 havens like Adelaide or Brisbane, it never would have worked to base teams there.

It was 2020 but I thought it was pretty hilarious.Remember when the Victorians sent a slice of the MCG turf to be planted at the GABBA for the 2021 Grand Final? Remember that?
Passive aggressive 101It was 2020 but I thought it was pretty hilarious.
Knowing the will of the commercial team, the mcc would have insisted that this happen as the final part of their agreement (once all other terms were agreed to) to let another stadium host.
The AFL would have thought they might get some nice publicity from it (which they did), and the MCC let the other states know that they were still their bitch when it came to grand finals.
Quite the aggressive play at the time.
And Queensland were. 2 weeks without training would have had a huge impact on the players. QLD were very accommodating. They saw the opportunity to help struggling local businesses and they took it.He did no such thing.
He just insisted on 2 weeks quarantine at the afls expense. He wasnt prepared to drop all the rules for the afl.
That’s all it was. He was intent on keeping covid out of wa. They would have had to do 2 weeks on arrival. As it was in qld they were locked in footy hubs the entire time. In wa after two weeks, life was normal.
Why would they ever choose to play games in Leederville and Geraldton where they have to pay money to get them to AFL standard, when they could just pick Carrara?Ive explained the stadiums thing ad infinitum - we are a footy tragic state - we have more footy grounds than qld.
West coast played home games at the waca. Theres leederville, joondalup, towns in geraldton, Fremantle oval.
Most of them are prewired for broadcast, scaffold for camera angles and you are done.
Plenty of 8-15 k stadia perfect for small vic teams to play each other and wa has shitloads of vic expats as well as wa folk who supported vic teams and stayed with them after wc/ dockers came in.
Think it was more than that Krank.Passive aggressive 101
It was the kind of alpha you get when people call themselves alphaThink it was more than that Krank.
It was pure Alpha.
Couldn’t agree more.It was the kind of alpha you get when people call themselves alpha
You mean the cost of some scaffolding. And Queensland were. 2 weeks without training would have had a huge impact on the players. QLD were very accommodating. They saw the opportunity to help struggling local businesses and they took it.
WA handled the pandemic perfectly. Protected their people from lockdowns and the virus itself. They would never been able to get away with it if they gave the concessions they did to the AFL.
Why would they ever choose to play games in Leederville and Geraldton where they have to pay money to get them to AFL standard, when they could just pick Carrara?
It was never a serious proposition.
Are you sprouting mistruths again Kranky? You mean the cost of some scaffolding.
And the first paying crowd pays for that 10 times over. Amortised over the season its chicken feed compared to the revenue.
Plus you then have a bunch of ovals to use instead of two that turn into sandpits.
Or you could have not soent a cent and just used the waca and optus…
And had crowds… paying crowds
Of course if you shared it round the state you would have packed crowds…
Because money right? Most important thing.
They were allowed to train - just locked in hotels for two weeks but allowed to train in iso, same as they were for months on end in brisbane. Just be two weeks in perth.
Brisbane months in hub
Perth 2 weeks in hub
Brisbane no crowds
Perth large crowds
Brisbane no money
Perth lots of money.
Remember when the Victorians sent a slice of the MCG turf to be planted at the GABBA for the 2021 Grand Final? Remember that?
You haven't worked it out yet Grin? You're truely a pathetic individual.
OMG. Is this what you pea hearted bad sports and sore loses are whinging about now.
Remember that year when Richmond came to the Adelaide Oval and defeated you pathetic wingers? Remember that?
Remember how that pathological lier kranky al complained, and continues to complain how unfair it was that his club got to play at home most of the year but had to travel to Brisbane, TWICE!!!! whilst Richmond was massively advantaged by relocating to QLD playing in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Darwin? Remember that?
Remember you two complaining that the home ground advantage in Grand Finals for Melbourne based clubs is 20 goals in spineless and mean hearted attempts to denigrate the hard work and success of others? Remember that?
The world doesn't exist to carry your pathetic whinging arses. Have some pride FFS.
There maybe more to it though hey?The only South Australianess left in Gilligan is his excellent diction and enunciation. He joined the Vic boys club in his early 20s and never looked back.
6 Victorian clubs have won it and 2 non-Victorian clubs have won it during your stated period.I think the perfect example of bias within the AFL towards the Victorian clubs happened in 2006 or 2007, as from 2001 to 2006 (6 years in total) it had been won only by non-Victorian teams and the AFL introduced a committee to look into why a Victorian team had not won the premiership in 5 or 6 years.

SA and WA stuffed up big time and only have ourselves to blame. They should have formed an alliance in the 80's and said to the VFL we are not interested in joining your little state league, we will only participate in a new AFL competition - so get rid of half your clubs and get back to us. VFL was a financial basket case at the time so they needed us more than we needed them. We held the position of power yet somehow got screwed over and now the horse has bolted. Those in charge of the WAFL and SANFL back then should hang their heads shame. If you designed a new AFL competition from scratch it would look nothing like this Victorian dominated dogs breakfast we have at present.
