MVP VOTES Carlton v Sydney Round 13 2011

Because you are a respected poster and clearly not a stirrer I guess we just see different things. It was a tough call between Yazz and Judd for mine, because they both did their role well, its just that Judd does his with 2 blokes hanging off him the entire time, still finds the ball in conjestion as often as anyone going around and moves the ball to advantage near every disposal he gets (and not all of them get counted, I lost count of the number of times he got the ball out of a scrum with a tap or knock on or sheer force of his legs moving the entire pack another 10 meters to advantage).

Only 6 players had more possessions than him and 4 of those are in my votes ahead of him, he had 8 clearances equal most on the ground (with Murphy) he had 13 contested possessions again only Murph had more and kicked a goal, so not sure what more the man needs to do to be counted 4 or 5th best for us?

Very well said, I can't help but feel Judd does tend to get undermined around here (if that were possible). Maybe it's because of the standard we know he's capable of but even still he had a solid game today (and last week) and while he was taken out of the contest in the 1st half he still manages to take 2-3 opposition players out as well. Moved further forward in the second half and created opportunities and kicked a goal himself.

Just appreciate a once in a generation player and what he brings to each game and the influence he has over it.

5. Matthew Kreuzer (absolute joy to watch)
4. Marc Murphy (best player in the comp at the moment)
3. Andrew Walker (great option all day)
2. Bryce Gibbs (just so solid)
1. Chris Yarran (give him space to run at your peril)

BYP - Yarran

Judd started quiet but was great in the second half. Perhaps not vote-worthy but he'd be right in the mix.

Great win, our pressure was outstanding...

5. Murphy - Absolute gun.
4. Kreuzer - WTF was that?!
3. Gibbs - Class act.
2. Yarran - Literally doesn't care who is behind him, he'll burn them.
1. Jamison - Class act.

5. Matthew Kreuzer - Stood tall in the forward line and threw his new found bulk around well around the ground
4. Marc Murphy - Absolute gun, loved his weaving through packs Judd-like and it was great to see him put a hit on Judd's opponent in one contest, great work. ..
3. Bryce Gibbs - Any other week he'd get 5, for his defensive effort and then working off to get some of the pill. .. Goodes went mad late but had to go to the centre to do it
2. Mitch Robinson - I was sprouting the Psycho Duck and Mad Dog gleefully all afternoon
1. Chris Yarran - Could have put anyone of several players here but Yazz work off the ball was great and he didn't always get used when he should have. ..

BYP: Yazz!

Unlucky:
Judd, Jammo and TBird - All started slow but worked their way into it well. ..

5. Kreuzer
4. Murphy
3. Yarran
2. Gibbs
1. Walker

Great when all 5 players are under 25 years old & top 10 draft picks.

I probably had Hampson in my votes in 1st half.

Jamo unlucky to miss votes.

5: Jroooooooozeeeerrrrr the big bloke was sensational
4: Murphy ...he is in AA and Brownlow form...look out Juddy you may have to share that medal ;)
3: Gibbs ..like a Rolls Royce ..he just purrs along
2: Walker.....working harder and getting the rewards
1: Yarran...mr cool ...loved watching him burn off Jetta ;)

BYP The Yazzman

5. Kruezer. Bar disaster, will win the Brownlow in his career.
4. Murphy. Loved the way he worked with Judd to try to burn off tags. Just had a better day than the great CJ.
3. Walker. Used his big tank to crack open the Swan's defence (and kudos to Ratten and coaching staff there too) by working up the ground. Loved how he got back into space to take a mark then goal after looking out of it in a heavy bump on the wing.
2. Gibbs. Pure class. Covered Goodes magnificently and was always creative.
1. Judd. 40YB's argument swayed me a bit there. Thought he was quiet and did most of his work in the second half, but his effectiveness and the respect he gets from opposition coaches meant bloke like Carrazzo, Simpson and Robinson are able to look even better.

ROTY: Yarran.

5. Murphy
4. Kreuzer
3. Gibbs
2. Walker
1. Yarran (BYP

5. Kreuzer - led the way early on when there was plenty of heat in the game.
4. Murphy - best midfielder on the ground & will most likely get the 3 Brownlow votes.
3. Gibbs - covered Goodes deep in defence & then became an attacking option further up the ground.
2. Walker - worked his arse off providing a target further up the ground than he has needed to in recent weeks.
1. Yarran - his sublime skills & pace opened up the game despite Sydney putting on a massive press.

BYP - Yarran

5. Marc Murphy - a.k.a. Charlie ;)
4. Matthew Kreuzer
3. Bryce Gibbs
2. Chris Yarran
1. Andrew Walker

B.Y.P. - Chris Yarran

Apologies to Simpson and Ellard. Almost knocked out Yarran and Walker.
