* have better ball skills than Carlton. Their handball is slicker than ours and they are cleaner and less fumbly picking it up
Will this mean they will be better suited to the wet conditions ... I would think so.
Does it mean they are going to win? .... of course not :thumbsu:
They might have good skills against low level, no pressure teams but when we start crunching them with high intensity and pressure, let's see how well those skills hold up

Oooh
Ooh OMEN peeps O- MEN!!!
Watching a taped old flick called Curzons of Courtney Street..taped a day or 2 ago.
Guess what music they played in dance party scene...
Guess!!!
YEs...
Our club song!
The old Lilly of Laguna

We win.

Ps. Thank God they changed those lyrics.

On my daily bike ride this morning around Lake Tuggeranong saw two clowns with Essendon beanies and scarves, hopefully not an omen.

If we are top 4 team (which i think we are) then we win this easily. Blues by about 10 goals :thumbsu::cool:

Think your omen is way better than mine.:)

don't disagree too much about our fumbly-ness, but would think rain drags down a more skilful side (essendon in your post)

i do remember in recent years that voss sides hadn't been coached enough on wet-weather footy, reluctant to kick the ball off the ground. but that's history and the rain might be done by the time the game starts. dew notwithstanding.
If the ball is in dispute repeatedly due to slippery conditions then it suits the bigger stronger bodies. That's why they're desperate for Seterfield to play.

Well, they did draw with Coll'd on ANZAC Day ... and wouldn't call that team low level-low pressure.
I don't think they've faked their No2 spot on the ladder, so best not to underestimate them.
There is a saying - underestimate your opponent and you have already lost. * are no mugs

Then again - there is no Glory in doing over easybeats. I want Carlton to beat someone good.
There will be lots of satisfaction if we beat this mob tonight.
Hope Harry and Charlie have their kicking boots on ... 4 each would be nice.

Get it done lads
:p

They can certainly beat us, though I think all things being equal we are a better side.

If we are a bit off though, I think they will make us pay.

Legit “just wondering” from me Jim:

You don’t for a second think they actually WOULD do that do you?

This is more an expression of what you would do?
I guess so, they don't seem to back the pace and skill at their disposal versus the ability to crack in. I disagree, as does most of the league in terms of how they approach it.

That being said, Essendon aren't the cleanest early in games, so every chance we can rough them up as is.

Got a couple of tickets last minute for sale for tonight. Adult and child ticket, level 2. N2, Row H. Message me if you're keen.

I want to see Harry and Charlie kicking an early Goal just to get 'em fired up and put them in the mood.
Ok ... you too TDK and Williams ... 3 or 4 from you would be nice as well 🙏

Shame Shiel isn’t playing tonight.

Hoping Motlop’s performance in the VFL puts some fire in Durdin - needs to snag a couple of goals but more importantly you’d want at least 1 effective tackle a quarter from him.

How’s the Melbourne weather?

Grey skies but all clear in Bayside.
