Are you kidding? Don't be a moron. We were deplorable at half time, epic in the last. Like I said, I tell it like it is. You're making more out of my comment than what's there.

We were ordinary as a team, but individually those players weren't as terrible as you made them out to be.

I simply think your assessment was overblown, see my earlier response there. I mentioned that armo was great to half time. Sometimes, even when one's effort is excellent, it's the model or the game plan at fault as a group.

Failure should not be treated as a scar. It must be realised that one might fail not because sometimes one did not work hard, but because the model was not right.

I questioned billings kicking a couple of weeks ago and wondered if he was going to be a gun or just a good player. Wow, if he keeps that up he's going to be awesome. I am glad he stuck it up me. How unreal is DMAC? How good is he? Pace and courage.
GO SAINTS!!!!!!

I completely agree with you, that's why I think you're misinterpreting my comments. When a player is MIA it's either through lack of coaching, effort, or the player just having a brain fart and not thinking about what they're doing. The effort was there from most, positioning not so much. Options become tigher and skills come under the pump and often fail.

Reckon he has three vs Suns, one/two vs Blues, three vs Bombers and Dogs.

Surely?
I think he might miss out vs Blues but grab a couple for the Pies game
33 disp and 2 goals.

I can't see us winning enough for him to win but it will make Brownlow night exciting at least!

I've missed 2 games this year
- saints vs gc
- saints vs dogs

Errrrrrrrrrr
You're officially banned from all St Kilda games from this point on :p

Excuses on the dogs board and main board are hilarious.

"Missed half a team" - just like you did last week except for Jong and Boyd. Why no excuses last week?

"Back to back 6 day breaks" - Yep considering this week you had a 7 day break. Extra day on us..
Also saying how experienced we are.. Sure we have 5 players over 30 but apart from that the rest of the team is mainly under 23.

Now that i've calmed down, just need to say: Credit to the dogs in that first half. Bar some goals that really should have kicked, their pressure was immense. They play a game style that goes at a million miles an hour and they apply tackle pressure that rivals Lyon-coached teams. They had our players crapping themselves at all times, even when they were given the ball in space, and it caused turnover after turnover. If/When they can sustain that for four quarters, they will be a superpower in the AFL. The dogs are coming, there's no doubt about that. I was in awe.

That said, I think our defence did well to withstand so many repeat entries, especially in the first quarter. Credit to Delaney, Dempster and Fisher who were the senior heads in that backline for standing up when we needed it. While it was frustrating to watch, we did well to be able to clear the ball from the danger zone repeatedly.

After half time we bullied the Bullies. That takes a lot of ticker and this game will create enormous self belief amongst our young brigade. How proud would our young guys feel walking off after that game and singing the song with gusto? Full credit to everyone at the club to hang tough when it all seemed lost.

Why are people being nasty to Bontempelli?

He's a great talent.

I'm all for comparing the two but let's appreciate Jack rather than calling Bonts a "shit flog"...

I'm so so excited about what some of these players can develop into. DMac was seriously fantastic.

Obviosuly didn't see any of the game but comparing Bont and BIllings is like comparing Judd and Hodge. Just silly. Bont was ready made last year for AFL, Billings was a skinny kid, still is, but will develop into a star.

Both clubs should be happy
