The AFL should show some balls and strip them of pick 1 if the finish last. They'll get many of the suspended players back anyhow (all those who don't retire or leave).

Still seems very dodgy and confusing how folks can call a 2 year penalty harsh when realistically its a 10 month actual suspension.
I thought under a WADA suspension you can't go near the club or have any contact with coaches etc???

Quite simple. AFL footballers need to stop behaving like kids, and take responsibility for their own actions. Every other athlete has to do it, why do AFL footballers think they can take anything the coach tells them to? This type of culture needs to change.

When players get ruled out of them from pissy on field suspensions it's a no brainer that he loses it.

Today's verdict seems to have put an end to the "feel for the poor players" line.

The infantilsation of the players (adults on six-figure incomes) is one of the worst developments in modern sport (especially AFL). They aren't children and the club is not a boarding school.

it is 2 years from March 2015 - but credit for the provisional suspension each player served (is why some come back on different days) so makes it November for most
