If Hannath goes, that will be pretty much season over for him.

Griffin and Bradley to come in, plus Taberner/Apeness are preferable, hard to Hannath getting another game, barring a horrendous run of injuries.

How far realistically are griffin and Bradley ? I would have thought griff is ahead as he has played a few games. I would love to see Apeness tried next week but depends how that hamstring tightness is going.

Would not mind griff at FF

When have we had forwards playing so well in the WAFl, Tabs and Moller are better than a lot of people think, both need to add weight, strength.
Add Apeness, and we have future rucks/forwards sorted.

Michael Wood was a waste of a pick

Jesus that is a shit comment from a mod. Maybe you are a waste of space.

Little wonder that this board is full of hysterical bitches.

Wood is a rookie twig who has played a handful of games and showed some really nice skills and endeavour, yet you call his career already.

A senior poster:rolleyes:

I'm trying to remember when you were made the overall arbiter of what everyone else posts on this board? You're worse than the ******* temperance union

It seems that you are though, and a piss poor job you make of it.

It was a shit comment.

Great. Stick up a list of "bushie approved" comments so we all know where we stand...

Get off yourself Princess.

The kid has shown plenty in the games that I saw him play for Peel this year....even standing Eagles ruckmen in the back pocket and holding his own.

Yet, I can't recall one single comment from you in regards to his previous Peel games, where he far from disgraced himself

And yet here you are calling him a waste of a pick at this stage of the season.

You are a muppet who is enabling the plethora of other muppets on this board and either missing opposition trolls or enabling them as well.

The current state of the board is a disgrace.

Maybe you should run around abusing people some more? You know, imbeciles, cretins, dog rooters? Really encourage people to take on your opinions...

Maybe you should stay on topic.

What is your justification for calling his career over before it began?

Where are you previous posts, from previous games, outlining his shortcomings?

Back up your bullshit for a change.

Way too skinny and unlikely to put on enough weight, too scared to make body contact in all games I've seen skirts around the packs, not really getting involved, too slow. Nice user of the ball when he gets it. Good kick for goal.

You are basically describing Fyfe when he first played seniors in the WAFL.

But yeah, let's cut the kid.

Out of interest what do you base this call off? To me he looks like a classic project rookie, no more or less of a waste than any rookie pick that isn't a mature ager, but the weight thing intrigues me.

Apart from the skinny bit that is as far away from Fyfe as Matt Priddis is to good midfielder

Not from his first few games in the WAFL it isn't.

Absolutely Fyfe blossomed far more quickly, but that is why he was a 20 pick in the National draft and not a rookie.

Priddis actually is a good midfielder.

There's little between Fyfe and Wood as far as their drafted weight/height is concerned:
Fyfe: 187cm and 75kg (http://afldraftinfo.blogspot.com.au/). Freo's website now has him at 190cm and 88kg.
Wood: 189 cm and 76kg (Freo website)

I think it's way too early to make a call on whether or not Wood will make it, particularly if his weight is being used as the main piece of 'evidence'. I reckon we give him a chance to grow - in all areas - without writing him off just yet.

My judgement on Wood is based on seeing him at training and watching him in a number of games both in Mandurah ,then at Blue Steel oval where he had the shoulder crunched and again at the Showgrounds today .
Bushie I hate to tell you mate but the kid has an uphill battle to make it into our Afl team .
the points I'm making about him are unbiased and only making them due to the argument you are putting forward and comparisons you have made .
Wood is very thin in comparison to anyone on our list including Moller .
His fitness is very poor and he doesn't take contested marks because he doesn't have the strength to hold his ground .He is not an elite runner and does not read the play well .
He is a terrific shot for goal and he doesn't wilt when there is a contest .
He put his body into a contest against Swan Districts and came away with a damaged shoulder ,that takes courage .
Today he was trying but he was struggling all day and he was protecting the shoulder all day . He didn't tackle , he kept his distance away from physical contest when the ball was on that side of the body and he opponent ran off him all day .
By comparison Ballard and Grey where the complete opposite . Same Age but they have some muscle to work with and they were at the coalface working their asses off .
Wood is another Timmy Ruffles IMHO .

Interesting comparison, I have seen Wood do some really nice things with the ball on the rare times I've been to training, hadn't made the Ruffles connection but I think you're right. I hope for his sake and ours it works out better.
