Australia imposes sanctions on seven Israeli settlers in West Bank

Australia has imposed financial sanctions and travel bans on seven Israeli settlers and a religious group occupying parts of the West Bank.

This follows the International Court of Justice's confirmation that Israeli settlements in Palestinian territory were illegal under international law.

Israel's government dismissed that finding as "blatantly one-sided" and not legally binding.

Good, now they should ban any Australia citizens or residents from joining the IDF.

With these demands, Hamas aren't going to be standing down anytime soon.

And with reports like this, the Israeli government won't be either. Israel's goal has been the annexation and settlement of Gaza and the West Bank and they are well on their way to achieving this while the world sits idly by watching the ongoing massacre.

While I am sure there are settlers who want to return to Gaza I don't see any evidence the govt does. Wouldn't have withdrawn in 2005.

West Bank is a different story. Israel should be punished & sanctioned heavily for settler activity in West Bank territory.

The IDF has taken control of 26% of the Gaza Strip, building bases and paving roads. Israel's religious right is already advancing towards its target.
A senior IDF officer discussing the territory under full IDF control in the heart of Gaza called it "an effort at prolonged occupation." But the military's activity also provides a tailwind for supporters of the reestablishment of settlements which were evacuated in 2005. Conditions for the emergence of a new reality are being created: an indefinite Israeli presence in Gaza.

Anyone have any idea what the rationale for destroying Rafah's water infrastructure is?

Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part. Act of genocide and war crime.

As a guess .. to create conditions for a surrender.

Could be as simple as to weaken the enemy. Something along those lines.

While fighting a war …being frowned upon or not is probably something that wouldn’t affect too many decisions.
What do you think their rationale behind their action was ?

You're correct, Israel does not give a fig about international law, that's been made abundantly clear.

I already told you - everything they've done is designed to make Gaza uninhabitable and to erase Palestinians. Hospitals, schools, water infrastructure, libraries, museums, cemeteries, government buildings, churches, mosques. Complete devastation to enforce displacement, far beyond any military necesity.

But Hamas would surrender if everyone was dying of thirst. They aren’t animals.
On what are you basing this assertion? They've sat on their hands while 30,000 women and children are slaughtered by the IDF, can only guess at 100,000+ injured, and you think they give a shit if more Palestinians die?

US confirms Hezbollah responsible for the strike that killed at least 12 Israeli Druze children on a soccer field. There will probably be a big response from Israel soon.

Why would Hezbollah attack civilans in Syria? Interesting that the Syrian Druze residents expelled Smotrich and other Likud from the funeral calling them murderers.

Regardless of whose munitions hit the area, it was an accident either way, no gain to be had by anyone.

It wasn't an accident.

"An Iranian-backed campaign by Hezbollah to incite inter-Druze violence in Lebanon has curtailed this unity, laying the groundwork for Hezbollah to expand into Syria’s Suwayda province with impunity.

Hezbollah’s push to create inter-sect strife has extended from Beirut to the occupied Golan Heights to Suwayda, placing the region’s Druze in a greatly weakened position."

lol - Hezbollah have claimed responsibility for every strike they've made, even when civilians are impacted, justifying it by citing IDF activity.

This one they have denied emphatically. There is no reason for them to kill syrian civilians. This does give Israel handy justification to escalate things though.

The US confirming anything is less than worthless. Lets wait and see.

Hezbollah hate the Druze.

Of course they fired this missile.

Who else is firing missiles from Lebanon into Israel?

The Druze? The Maronites?

You just linked me an article explaining how Hezbollah was trying to split the Druze and listing its Druze political allies? Why would Hezbollah hate Druze?

It's not been confirmed that this came from Lebanon.

Add to the fact that there are Druze who are part of the IDF.

The view that there's no reason for Hezbollah to bomb them is ignorant.

Of course there are Druze that are part of the IDF. Many Druze are strong supporters of Israel.

Many of them in the Golan Heights still believe they are Syrian and are loyal to that country.

As I said, there are videos of Druze leaders insulting Smotrich, calling him murderer, and telling him to leave. It's not as straightforward as you seem to believe.
