Be prepared to cop shit in 2025 if we drop down the ladder and Hinkley is gone. See he wasn’t that bad afterall
I can handle a step backwards to go forwards rather the insanity of going back to the well with the proven loser that is Ken Hinkley.

And really, Ken's record (the one that counts, you know, premierships) isn't one that anyone can really defend at that point anyway, the new coach will have won as many flags as Ken did in his 12 years at the club.

I’ll be politely reminding all those people that they owe the new coach a bare minimum of 12 years because that’s what they were happy to give to Hinkley.

Kane will move on as well. There is no utility in needling the fans about yesterday’s news
I’d bet my house at the first sign of Carr stumbling he has a dig at the supporter base.

Something like “ where are the boos for Carr?” or “Carr needs to turn it quickly or the boos will come from the supporters”

He can’t help himself. He’s still throwing backhanders at Luke Darcy over some BS commentator spat from 5 years ago.

Genuinely, why would any Port fan care what the commentariat say about anything?

I think this will come from the (not-so-)happy-clappers:

— Where’s the flag you promised? Now we can’t make Finals!

I always found Darcy to be a cocky dick, he can have it thrown at him

When you reach a dead end sometimes you've got to do a three-point turn rather than plough straight into the brick wall.
Nope. We've been in the top 4 for four of the past six years - I have an expectation that we stay in the top four. I like winning and I like making finals and if we're changing coaches we're only doing it to improve not go backwards. Anything else is untenable.

We exist to make the top 4 and embarrass ourselves in finals.

With or without Hinkley we are going backwards in 2025.

We are clearing out a lot of players in 2025 and 2026. Go backwards to go forwards is Ok by me if we get lots of games in to Lord and Scully, Lorenz and Anastaopolous, Sinn and Walsh, Dante, and Rome Burgoyne.

Its useless bashing and crashing to win enough games to fniish top 4, have lots of players banged up, and unavailable in September and achieving nothing much in September.

That Hawthorn game was a family favourite for us - but I'm not paying 6 memberships a year to see us go backwards. I like how much we win - I don't like losing finals but I definitely prefer to get to them. The whole idea of a new coach for me is a coach that gets us to a grand final otherwise why bother changing?

Must be nice if every decision you make in life comes with a guarantee that it will work out

Far better off learning a style and system that's reliable in big games than the bash, bomb, taxing unsustainable crap, I'm fine with a step back to go forward if we see that implemented while blooding some new talent.

‘With’…. Don’t say that.
