I was abusing him at 3 quarter time but I suppose he played alright. The Crows kick the ball to Burton heaps and he did some good things in the last quarter.

Deserves to be in the team next week.

i think everyone is jsut waiting for him 2 stuff up thats the problem.
i thought he did well 2nite. surely no one could knock his game 2nite

He's strength is one on one contests. When we get him in a good match-up he does well more times than not. We dont have a heap of other options. Welsh was whipped by Burton early. Henry was good.

He was solid, influenced Burton's impact on the game. Welsh was much worse in defence yet his name isn't mentioned where Slattery's is.

Welsh was even worse on Burton. He should be played forward as his skills are not good enough and he is too slow.

Did ok in the areas where i thought he would struggle. One on one he was pretty good, it was on the lead and at ground level where he just wasn't good enough to stay with him.

Pretty good game from Henry under the circumstances. :thumbsu:

Ok, I'm getting mixed opinions here. On Bblitz, he's getting a pretty good wrap. On here during the gameday thread he was getting a pretty bad wrap. So...Was he good or bad?

He was bad for 3 quarters of football. Held the Bird-man reasonably in the last 7 minutes.

When I say bad, I mean not spoiling or chooping of the arm when his in the contest. His just not a natural backman.

yeah, because the people you're referring to here on bigfooty have their scapegoats that they verbally bash week after week. if the player has a good performance, they go quiet; if the player has a not-so-good match, they'll call for their heads.
even if slattery were to be the back pocket in our next premiership with a top-10 B&F finish, rest assured there will always be people on here slagging him off.

did you watch the 3rd when burton did the damage on the scoreboard?

burton is that sort of player. he is one of the inform forwards in the comp. and if ur not happy with him at least breakin even, there is somthing wrong. who else could of gone 2 him. welsh was gettin carved up badly by him.

so come on mate get real

and im not a massive fan of him either. but im sick of most of you's. who hate him. so even if he goes ok. you's still find a way 2 bag him.

agree 100 % mate. they will always find somthing wrong:mad:

i don't like bagging our players but jeez he was frustrating tonight..He is not the most naturally talented player but some of his basic defensive work was a joke. It was a slippery night where the ball was always going to fall short yet Slattery played from behind Burton every single time!!! Burton is quite quick off the mark while Slattery is not..just plain dumb play by him.

Dissapointed he got a contract extension but hopefully he proves me wrong

Easily too, since he just doesn't have that closing speed.

Yeah, that's it.

These guys think he had a fantastic game because Burton had a shit one.

Burton missed many attempts for goal, and 8 uncontested marks for Burton, I don't know how you can call it a top performance by Slatts.

He gives free kicks like (that) and will piss fart around.
