He was playing on someone who is better than him and bigger.
But don't forget - one A. Welsh got taken to the absolute cleaners by Burton.
My one criticism was Slattery always going to ground. Keep your feet.

i was being real. i love his courage, effort etc but he just aint good enough at afl level.
We have enough trouble stopping the opposition getting the ball out of the middle, we don't want to make it easier for them by giving away sloppy free kicks <enter Sattery>.

Forget who used to get Burton, but he's absolutely destroyed us for quite a few years, at least since Craig was coaching them. Last two times Henry's had some minor sort of impact on a very very good player.

I thought his game this weekend was a lot better. He finally deserves his spot in next weeks side.
He always tries and gives 110% - that no one can deny. he tried hard again - was lucky Rioli's radar was out of whack - but I like his G&D attitude.
I fear he will always be in the McPhee, Dyson, Laycock, Welsh bin. Always bagged no matter what.

Unfortunately for Slats and players like Laycock, Welsh and McPhee...they haven't progressed any further, regardless of their application to a contest.
Peverill springs to mind of a player constantly ridiculed for not having been blessed with skills, but I dare say over the last 10 years, would be in the top 6 as far as trying his guts out week in, week out. The toll it has taken on his face says it all.
In any event, they make great bargaining tools come trade time, especially Laycock who would be a handy tall (if we're talking list depth only, as he's virtually useless anywhere else...) for a team like Melbourne, St Kilda or Western Bulldogs.
