getting excited about meaningless wins harks back to the Robert Shaw era.
Collingwood beating St Kilda to go top after round 16 is something to get excited about. beating Geelong in a dead rubber at home, not so much.
as I said there is a lot to like, but there's a long way to go before you draw long term conclusions given the way we fell over at the start of the season.
Thats your problem. You sit there in your armchair and nit pick the bad from good, highlight the bad and brush aside the good. So because it is unlikely that Adelaide will make the finals, that makes the game a "dead rubber"? Adelaide havent got anything to prove so shouldnt even try? Cant make the finals so why bother? Your a joke.
What is meaningless about a team that has turned their season around from 0-6 and being flogged week in week out, to 7-3 and beating 2 of the top 4 teams recently, and breaking a losing streak against WC at a ground Adelaide dont play well. Whats meaningless about watching kids like Walker, Tippett, Hendo, Sloane, Jaensch, Danger etc compete and beat the top side?
I told you before why we fell over at the start of the season. But that wasnt enough for you. The playing group was a mess, the game plan was djusted to a more exact, 18 man zone, and there was kids playing in their first games week in week out. Why? Because 8-12 players were injured each week.
So whats changed? Underdone players are now fitter. Kids have 5-15 games experience and confidence, and understand their roll better. Injured players have returned. The game plan has been adjusted, and everyone is doing their job regarding the game plan.
Stop being so negative and look at the positives for once. And more importantly, be proud and happy about the positives
