Lol Heat

Solid choke

Won’t make finals
Perhaps the dumbest thing you have ever said. The Heat have the Stars, so they are basically guaranteed.

Also, it wasn't a choke, it was great batting by the best line up in the game.

Stars only need Capsey or Sutherland to go off..

Heat without Redmayne are very average. Be very lucky to make it

Don't need Redmayne, Heat is a better team than the Stars even without her.

They have been lucky to win a game without her. Tonight left 10-20 runs out there
They scored 25-30 more than they should, Sixers final four overs were the most pathetic they bowled all season.

After the start they had and hallelujah Wyatt did some other than crabbing 170 was absolute minimum if not 180 the less said about the surge the better

After Peterson destroyed the top order 130-135 should have been their maximum, but they took one of the best bowling units in the comp on a tour of North Sydney Oval.

Momentum swings in that game were brutal and that made it one of the games of the season.

That's two pretty good run chases in row for the Sixers, the 177 against the Scorchers on the weekend and last night's 164 will fill the team with a lot of confidence going into the finals, but if I was Charlotte Edwards, I would be a little concerned with the bowling. You don't want to be chasing 160+ totals every game.

At the halfway mark of the tournament 4 of the top 10 wicket takers were Sixers (Ecclestone, Gardner, Brown and Cheatle all with 12 or more wickets), since then Brown hasn't played, Ecclestone hasn't taken a wicket in four games and Cheatle has been a little down. Thankfully for the Sixers, 19yo Peterson had a breakout game last night or the Sixers could have been chasing a far greater total, she looks like a capable medium-fast bowler that skids the ball a little and has nice variation. She could be a very important part of the Sixers attack over the next few games.

Was a great game yes, an annoying pity it was midweek don't get me started on the scheduling of games. I'd have loved to go but not a Wednesday midweek.

Still feel they should have made 170 at least from where Wyatt set them up.

Agree to a point but North Sydney is generally speaking high scoring, and 160 odd is still par or just below there, it's a very true wicket. It is why I'm a fan of a large portion of games there (at least both NSW sides). Crowds want runs, and 160-170 run chases are a perfect medium. They are exciting you are in the game all the time.

Peterson was very good, thought she was good when she played a few games for us, glad she's getting an opportunity, the one thing you can't get enough of is pace. Thought Perry used her well too, not too many important overs, left that for herself and Cheatle and suited Peterson a lot. The one thing I will say Cheatle at the death doesn't work, she should be bowled out with 4 to go.

Last night the commentators said that the average winning score at NSO over the last 3 seasons was 163, which while still high compared to most other grounds, seems a good 10-15 runs lower than in those middle seasons of the WBBL (3, 4 and 5), or at least that is how I remember it when 180-200 was a regular total and even a score of 240 was achieved in one memorable game. It does seem that the ground isn't as conducive to the high scores as it once was.

Now, having said that the Sixers will come out and belt 220 on Friday night. I hope. :)

160-170 is a nice score. Keeps everyone in the game and it’s entertaining. Think 180 is too much but you don’t want 120 pitches. 160 is a happy sort of medium.

Well not having Perry bat would help lol

I'm not going to be too critical of Perry's batting this season, she has been very good this tournament, scoring 274 runs at an average of 34.25 and a strike rate of 114.16, and she is offering great support for the more dynamic batters around her like Healy, Burns and Gardner. The Thunder would kill for a Perry right now, she offers stability at the top the order and besides a few failures has been very consistent.

Her bowling on the other hand, has been very inconsistent, which is why the Peterson performance last night was such a nice surprise, hopefully if Brown returns it means Perry doesn't have to bowl or at worst only one or two overs a game.

Perry should bowl the first over and then maybe the 3rd if she bowls well, utilise her when it swings, she's useless otherwise, bowls just an array of slot balls if it's not swinging.

Her batting has been fine, but I still feel it's come at the expense of Burns who is probably your most in form bat and was before the tournament too, in some games she's barely had a hit. Gardner in form should be at 3 too.

We've won 9 from 12 games, with one no result, so I'd say the team is functioning very well at the moment, so change isn't really needed. I'm happy for Perry to stay at number three, she protects Gardner who is susceptible to swing and spin early in her innings, and Burns bats her best in the final 10 overs.

In Edwards I trust. Well, more than you anyway.;)
