Looking at the original plans here, it looks like we scaled back on the original plans to include an Indoor Sports Hall next to the community oval - as well as ditching plans for the additional ovals to the west of the property. I wonder if they're part of future development pipelines?
I thought it might be (I’m pretty sure the added ovals will be stage 2 but it appears the sports hall has been overtaken with car parking, I thought it might make sense to have an indoor venue especially for wheelchair and blind afl… IMG_5878.jpeg IMG_5879.jpeg

Totally agree. To be honest, for the size of the lot - I’m surprised at how little indoor space has been built for the team.

Page 21 of the designs here show the details. I wonder if a 1km sq indoor space is standard with some of the other fancy training centers popping up.

The club has probably learned quite a few tricks operating with such limited space at Bunjil Bagora for so long. I'm sure a lot of those learnings can carry over to the KCC which will still be a huge upgrade in terms of space. And if required extensions can be made in the future based on the experience of actually having used the new facilities.

I guess that's the beauty, isn't it? We have nothing but land to build on. Really hope we do expand as part of a Stage 2 and 3 redevelopment. The new 'thing' in high-performance training facilities worldwide is the ability to in-house specialist sports rehab suites.

Additionally, I truly admire what West Coast and Richmond have at their HQs in the Wirrapunda Foundation and the Koran Gamadji Institute.

If there's ever been a better time to build on this recent troubled time in our history, creating some sort of centre for indigenous youth with all our space that honours some of our recent greats (Cyril, Buddy and/or Silk) would be magnificent.

Went for a drive passed this morning on the way to the family day and there were trucks entering with materials on the back and earth movers getting about.
I guess it’s full steam ahead even on the weekend?

I have a mate in construction up in Sydney. He's not involved in the Dingley development, but he's pretty connected.

I actually checked in with him this morning & he replied:

"Mate they've only designed for your existing Premierships - they didn't know you've added Phillips via the SSP. Once that news broke, they were under the pump to extend the trophy cabinet. Don't know exact specs of your cup - I'm a League guy - but seems like they've accounted for an extra 5x Premierships in the redesign. Cheers."

Unconfirmed, but it seems like the additional trucks might've been helping extend the trophy cabinet for the next decade 2024 - 2033:shrug:

I work in construction and Saturdays are basically part of the working week. When it gets closer to the completion date it will even be Sundays too

Given the Frank Costa statue at Geelong cost $100K, I can't imagine HFC will be investing in too many of them. Even though a driveway lined with them would be pretty impressive. Maybe just a series of busts like the Prime Minister's Avenue in Ballarat.
