Geelong winning puts us one step closer to getting a nice one million for Dingley.

No, the money MUST be split between players and the club. So I imagine all the 2024 women and men players will get the bulk of the prize money, and deservedly so.
From another thread

"with the winning club also being awarded $1 million prizemoney: $500,000 goes to the winning club, with $250,000 being split among that club's AFL players ($6250 per player), and $250,000 being split among that club's AFLW players ($8333 per player)."

This thing is gonna be phenomenal when it's complete and we're going to be the envy of the comp with these facilities

I think this was meant to go out at the start of October as light towers are already up as is the steel framing of the indoor training facilities.

Frankston is a good setup. I hope it continues

The wind coming off the bay makes it one-way traffic only. Sitting up on the hill like that, there's nothing to stop the breeze.

Speaking of nothing to stop the breeze, that will be a challenge out at the Dingly paddock too. There are no hills or trees to break up the wind there either. Hmm... it needs a grove of big leafy trees protecting the windward side.

You're right but hopefully the builds can help, once they are up. Also planting trees around the perimeter will help and also allow for privacy

The latest update received by foundation members this morning.
“We’re excited to share some significant updates on our facility's construction progress. The structural steel erection for the indoor training field is complete, showcasing the impressive scale of this four-story structure that overlooks the main training oval. Meanwhile, roofing in the administration area is nearing completion, paving the way for advancements on the indoor training field.
In the community pavilion and AFLW match day oval, the installation of sports lighting towers has been successfully finished.
Significant progress on the main training oval includes sand placement, keeping us on schedule for turf installation in the coming weeks.
Following this, work will commence on the AFLW oval, with both ovals expected to be ready by Christmas and handed over to the club in early 2025. As we approach the holiday season, we anticipate substantial advancements on roof and wall trades for the Harris Elite Training and Administration Facility, with the first delivery of external glazing expected soon. The next key phase for the pavilion will be the steel erection, followed by a similar timeline for the Harris Elite Training and Administration Facility.”
With the exciting development of our young players and team the timing for the move to the KCC is just about perfect. Having an elite training centre will certainly help to promote us as a destination club now and in the future.

Fantastic. great to hear that the grounds will be finished and handed over soon.

I did notice that the site has temporary fencing up around the 2 construction zones. I had thought the whole site would be in the builders hands but looks like we can use the ovals for private training sessions while construction continues. And they way they are going it's going to be all internal work soon anyway so less concrete trucks and cranes going round.

Roughead is going to love bringing some of those 2025 free agents around for a visit.

The site also has the world’s largest pothole just outside the gate on that crappy road. If the roads dept doesn't want to fix it, someone will need to pour some asphalt in the middle of the night or every car at the club will need new springs and shocks.
