Not going to comment anymore. Our club being successful means more to me than most and I have the membership of my entire family for a long time to back that up. I don't think that today's win helps us in any way at all. You can disagree. Time will tell.
Put aside whether winning ‘helps’ us whatever that even means.

Does losing today help at all? Does losing the 21st game in a row to end the season whilst collecting a third consecutive wooden spoon help?

How many number one picks did Geelong have in their dynasty? Don’t know if Richmond had many in their three flags. Dustin Martin wasn’t pick 1, or Riewoldt, or Cotchin ect ect.

As it stands, the only number pick we’ve ever had packed his bags after one year and went home to Mummy.

It’s ok you won’t comment anymore though right… go and enjoy your night crying about us kicking 20 goals for the first time in 4 years, a good 80/90% of todays players have never even kicked a score that big in their careers before.

Means nothing though right? Ok mate!

Can't underestimate how positive this single win will be for our off season. Avoiding the spoon and finishing on a high note should give the boys a bounce in their step coming back to the club after a break. First full preseason with Clarko, 2-3 top 10 picks and a full preseason for the likes of George and Wardlaw will have the place buzzing in a few months time.
I think a 21 game losing streak would have lit a bigger fire under their arse.

This is where it annoys me. As if you and your family are more important or more committed than hundreds of others equally committed and equally financial. You have your view. I have mine. Others have theirs. It doesn’t matter. They are just our views on how to take North forward. We agree on the destination but we disagree on the method. All good. Play on.
I don’t think there is a right or wrong way to think about today.

I was leaning towards the side that todays win wasn’t a priority as the sugar hit lasts 5 minutes and Pick 1 gives us the choice, but I also think that it wasn’t disastrous to win either.

Curtin and Watson will be very good additions and Sanders could be the cherry on top.

Hopefully we can all actually the win with some silver linings to play out.. wc could still beat Adelaide, wc could ultimately take Curtin, the win today could have convinced bmac to stay..

Oh and more point to those saying the win means nothing…

Do you think the confidence of being able to close out a game and finally play four quarters won’t mean anything to the belief of this young side?

If we had the confidence/belief to close out games we would have won a good 4/5 extra games this year and tanking for another spoon wouldn’t even be a question.

He’ll only tear us a new one twice a season. The rest is out of our control.
Wasn’t there the same hype around Rayner? I think we are pretty happy to say we didn’t get Pick 1 in that draft and ended up with LDU.

If Reid was the best player in the draft by the length of the Flemington straight, I’m sure Clarko sets them up accordingly.

We may be very happy to take Curtin knowing he can play key back, but also has the versatility to go into the middle.

The streak continuing wouldn't have mattered and wouldn't have hung over the group's head. Talent is talent and Reid + what we've got cooking would be undeniable.

Draft position aside it was nice to see them win, and who knows, maybe the Eagles get up and all is good.

If im a potential trade target, I'm looking at today and thinking, they just need a bit more senior talent and they'll be alright.

If we had have put in the performance we did against Adelaide a few years ago in the final round - wouldn't go near us with a ten foot pole.

We won 3 games this year so after previous 3 seasons of shit. So this wasn't a false dawn win.

Guys like Clarko and Ratts deserve to finish the season on a high too.

We may still end up with pick 1 or Reid if WC get gunshy anyway.

Yeah, to be honest, I just want wins. If we don’t get pick 1, we get the next pick 🤷‍♂️
A lot of people on here screaming about making Larks Captain, AA team…the guy was pick 73!! Apparently only 3 Pick 1s have gone on to win a flag. Some of the crap going on in this thread is just over the top!!!

Ambivalent: having or showing simultaneous and contradictory attitudes or feelings toward something or someone

When finding oneself in this situation it's best to just look at those closest to the action and run with their vibe. It wont make things any worse and you could have a good time. Does not apply to Nostrilldumbass or Two Bills, who never could experience this and if they did their heads would put on a show Total Recall style.
