I agree. Thats why I dont think Miller was telling you all complete bullocks. He probably did rate these guys roughly where he says he did but its not all true if you go on what he said at the recruiting meeting with PRE ppl. I remember Neil Balme made a habit of saying the Pies rated a player top 20 or top 10 etc and it came back to bite them on the bum when the bloke turned out to be a dud. I think that is why most clubs dont like to discuss the actual ranking of a draftee within their system.





I understand Miller is doing a job on promoting the richmond brand just as much as the footy club however I dont like the way he handles the media. I think he uses it to in some ways, con the RFC supporters. Alot of Richmond supporters are soo happy they got Casserley at pick 40 BECAUSE RFC were supposedly going to take him at 24. In reality, I think nearly every club had a break like that on draft day however its the Richmond supporters who think they have hit the jack pot. I think its places unfair expectations on the player and footy club. I also dont think Miller handled the whole JON pace thing correctly either. Talk about pumping up a blokes tyres. It will be hard for JON to live upto expectations next year.

Maybe Miller's antics just get up my nose because WC are very conservative and 'in-house'. I dont think we ever give anything to the media except the generic football trash talk. I think you are right in saying that we can afford to do this because of our place in the WA market and our financial position. However, I still dont like the way Miller operates. Time will tell if he has been successful.

Not because Tambling is a injury prone midget who shouldnt have gone pick 4, Rodan has done nothing bar 'flying in a pre-season' before doing a serious injury and Krakouer is a soft, inconsistant tiny goal sneak who dosn't have the body to play AFL football and yet is rewarded with a lengthy large contract.
