If it hasn’t been said already, big shout out to Clarke again last night. Absolutely rinsed Salem - not once did they rebound out of defence. Has added another dimension to our team since coming in, credit to him for taking the chance and the coaches identifying the value

Yer I definitely bagged Dylan
We all are guilty of the occasional player bagging Punts.
What we need to realise that in our system, everyone on our list has the opportunity to improve by grabbing their opportunity & working hard within team structures.

Clarke & Fox just a pure example.
Withing our gameplan they have excelled & wouldn't get a game anywhere or respect else.
I love it so much about our club.

Decision?
How many Swans players do you need to move to Carlton to make you happy?
Solution
Become a fulltime Swans supporter

I live in Sydney now and did take out Swans memberships in the days when Plugger just joined. Also took out a GWS membership when they first started, have no interest in the rugby.

Papley is the best small forward in the game by a way
Have i got an exciting proposition for you! We are selling our shiny brand new first round draft pick. All for the low low price of one Papley. Act now and we will throw in a second round draft pick, free of charge!!

Dam i wish we got him a few years ago. What a star he is.

Glad you guy's won, hope the Swans go all the way and win the lot.

I look forward to Lewie Taylor winning next years best and fairest the way things are going

Anyone suggesting team changes for the prelim should be suspended.
Well … with the risk of suspension, I do have a query over Logan. IMHO he and Buddy both work better when they spend time up the ground. I think there is an argument for Amartey as someone who can stay close to goals and take a pack mark, or bring the ball to ground.

Congratulations gang! What a wonderful game to watch.

The sharpness And hardness of your squad is something to behold

I adore Parker’s game. His physicality was on show in stoppages and he was clean and clever with the footy.

The mccartins are so good to watch patrolling the air. I had no idea Paddy was such a good user of the ball!

Gulden’s kicking pierced through the dees transition defence when he hit up Warner to set up Hickey’s goal.

Fox is a stud defender. Sheesh. Talk about a smother to close out a game.

My friend and I sat down this morning and reviewed the game with Sydney fan hats on. We’re new to this but so passionate and it really prolongs the wins for supporters after games. If you like it; please share the episode with your Sydney fan friends

I grew up playing rugby League and Rugby Union and some Aussie Rules.
I moved to Sydney in the 80s and met a girl who liked the Swans. She changed me.

Putting my two bob in.

Was nervous as throughout the game. Hated that we were bombing it in as May was mopping it up early but played a role as the game wore on.

Really was one of those games where no-one "took over" the match with a ridiculous 35 and 2 type of game but everyone put in.

Also, have some scope to improve, especially players who were relatively down on output.

Get excited!

*thank **** I did not write the preview thread.

Ughhhh Bigfooty won't let me post it as the video is too long, but Nick Riewoldt last night hit the nail on the head in explaining why our pressure is so effective. He was saying how we don't stand a metre or two back and try and corral like most teams do, but we instead actually put body contact on the opponent and get right in their face so they physically can't do anything.

This is EXACTLY what I lament about other teams in the non-Swans game day thread every week and finally someone in the media has acknowledged that attempting a pressure act and actually just doing it are two different things.

I grew up out west (Hay) in the 1960s.
Picked Saints as my team in 1964. Saints league too. Long story.
Played 4 years of junior rules before switching to league part way through when we got a rep player as our Science Master in 4th year. Played some rep league but was way too small for the serious stuff.
So sort of followed Saints until my son started playing U12 rules with Wests. One year behind Paul Bevan. Son decided he would also follow Saints (🤦‍♂️) so I switched to Swans so he would in 1997.
Never regretted it. The best club I know anything about since Roos started coaching. All heart and zero sh*t.

Hey John. Please tell the boys to stop dragging the ball in under them. Hard to get it out again with 3 opponents sitting on top of you. How many times did we get pinged for HTB like this?

Dylan Stephens really looks a player now, took the game on and delivered in spades.

Grew up a mad Blues supporter as did his family ....... time to come home Dylan. ;)

(I know he is from SA)
He's from Red Cliffs, near Mildura. he's Victorian, just did his last few years of school in Adelaide. The Mildura area was part of the old South Melbourne zone. So he has come home!
