I hate every single person who thought that Hawthorn had the match in the bag. I know this would happen. You see other teams lose after being in a position where it looks impossible to lose and then it happens to your own team and it's the worst feeling in football.

Hand off it, you guys won the premiership last year. Richmond have barely been in a final series.

But this must have been a terribly frustrating loss for you guys, the Crows have certainly been on the receiving end of a few of those sorts of last-second losses over the years. Feel for you guys.
 
Just to update, the AFL has just updated the stats, 7 frees to geelong to 1 in the last term. Just to correct my post earlier.

I'm so annoyed at every aspect of that last quarter. Was rubbish. Melbourne could have beaten us the way we played. Stupid handball chains, 5 metre grubber kicks to no-one, not holding onto vital tackles etc

It's not fair to blame Kennedy alone for the loss, he has hardly played many senior games, but Guerra & Ellis have, and as for Roughie, what the hell is wrong with him?? To miss from 20 metres out is UNFORGIVABLE!!!
One of those he missed would have won us the game...Time he spent many, many hours learning to kick goals. To think he kicked EIGHT goals against Carlton earlier this year. We had our opportunity, and we blew it! Plain and simple! We should put the cue in the rack this year, and keep playing the kids, the experience will put them in good stead for next year.
I cannot remember feeling so gutted, it's a horrible feeling to lose by a point. If anyone needs an operation, they should go and get it done now, ready for 2010..
I guess one consolation is we had 6 of our GF players out, but none of them will be back this year.Young is definitely one that we miss the most.
He kicks the ball long down the wing, and is a great long kick for goal.
I truly believe if he had played today we would have won. But, it's not to be.:mad:
 
I think we miss ladson and young most defintely.

But Croad is the big one.But sadly I don't think we'll see the best from him again.

Its just sad stuff but i say play kids, everybody go and get ops and lets get some hunger back.

Theres no point trying to get into any finals there aren't any for us.:thumbsdown:
 
I liked the comparison between Rooke putting a slight push into Murphys back and buddy leanign against whoever the Geelong guy was at the other end. Buddy got done and the ball went down the other end and Rooke goaled. That was what got me so ****ing angry. If they are their pay them by all means, but when they aren't don't just pluck them out.

Also, second quarter i think it was, Brown took a mark 5 metres out and it wasn't payed, then the ball was held up in a contest and it was given as holding the ball, then they went down the other end and goal. These things piss me off. So ****ing annoyed right now.

but no thanks to that little ****ing red weasel umpire chamberland.....classic display of over umpiring ........and the why the bloody hell do we ALWAYS get pinned for holding the ball in a pack situation and geelong gets a ball up WTF IS GOING ON HERE.....i am absolutely fed up :mad::mad::mad::mad:
 
stupid umpires the hawks need to take it up with AFL it cost us a game.

in a year where we have had NO LUCK AT ALL its time to get some answers.

No doubt we got screwed over.

As soon as murphy was going for that ball i knew he was going to get pushed off by rooke.

Oh for god sake, no one in the team deserves to be singled out. It's all of their faults for becoming complacent during the last quarter. We never should've gotten to the position of losing or drawing the game. I was gutted when I realised that it looked like being a draw, but demoralised when we lost.
 
You guys are a f***ing disgrace. 2 weeks ago I would've killed to play like they did today and get that close to Geelong. Regardless of where we finished at the end of the year too much damage was done at the start. From what I saw the Hawks gave it absolutely everything they had.

The inconsistency of the umpires is so obvious. Don't tell me that their inconsistencies don't win games!!! The example of Brown was one glaring one, and as for Buddy. He just never gets a free, yet he has players over his shoulder, he gets pushed in the back, his jumper held,he is scragged, and yet NO FREE.. I am sure the umpires get together before the game, and make a pact that they won't give him any frees for infringements from the opposition!!What does he have to do to get a free?? It's no wonder he gets frustrated when he gets one paid against him..Last week he had an obvious arm around his neck, yet the player that did it, got the free! How in the hell did he get that??@##$$% umpires...

Just because we criticise them, doesn't mean that we are fairweather supporters. Even though I am gutted we lost, no one can say they didn't try, or do their best..But for a few stupid errors from experienced players, we could have/should have won the game.I just hate that smirk that Thompson gets when they win. He is such a sarcastic prick!!
 
The loss hurts, but schit, we gave it our all, the effort could not be questioned, the execution in a high pressure game was off, the implications of the loss are huge, but i'll take a loss where we gave it our all against a very good team, it still hurts though.
 
Hi guys, bad luck today.

I have a hawks fan who has just told me that we (Geelong) are irrefutable, gutless, soft and honourless? He said if Hawks play Geelong in a finals game he will point out all of the abovementioned traits about my side. I am perplexed as to why he would say this? Do any other hawks fans agree with what he has said? You guys were awesome today and I think you will make the finals and put fear/danger into anyone, even us.

We were leading by 28 points almost half way through the final quarter. We shouldn't have lost. And watching the replay of it on Channel 10 now i still think the umpires ****ed us over. Unforgivable
